I ordered the 1lb beef brisket plate and it came out surprisingly fast but was cool in temperature. Not warm, not hot, but cool, as though it had been sitting out for a while, maybe someone’s pick up order that they simply didn’t want anymore. I have never seen something so pathetic in a restaurant setting in my entire life, the sheer disrespect of having my food be cool while the others at my table got their food hot/warm is baffling.
The food is not cheap but I want to be treated properly for what I’m paying. The brisket itself was gray and had no smoke ring which is simply put embarassing. The cornbread was actually good, as was the coleslaw but the mac’n’cheese could have had a better portion.
I also tried the peach cobbler dessert that tasted super salty, which the waitress informed me was actually a pinch of salt on top (it was, again, noticeably salty and got in the way of enjoying the dessert). It wasn’t a really busy Sunday but the lack of staffing definitely delayed service. Overall an extremely disappointing experience, maybe this place was once great but they really dropped the ball on a Sunday night that was not busy at all. Will definitely not be recommending this place to others as the value just isn’t there and the disrespect of giving food that was seemingly leftovers is just unacceptable. Looking at other reviews it seems to be a recurring theme that they will not solve.
went for superbowl and the food was beyond expectations.
Hot fresh delicious..do not pass go and forget to stop here for BBQ ribs ..mac cheese and cold brews !!!
Our overall experience was very much overshadowed by our horrible waiter though. The restaurant only had a couple tables of people and yet our waiter barely did anything.
He never served us drinks – I think it was the bar tender who eventually got us drinks after waiting with no service. We were contemplating walking out after waiting for so long for him to take our order, but we were hungry, so we had to seek him out to take our order. No sorry, no how are you, nothing. When we were finished we had to wait so long just for him to come back. We wanted to try dessert but after an hour and a half for two people in a not busy restaurant, we didn’t want to give up anymore time.
Not disabled friendly no parking and washroom doors like 30” if that. As well entrance double doors tiny.
We were first timers in a Smoke house.
The food was good, but it would have been nice if our server had told us about the available sauces we could have applied to our food (without which made our food seem very dry).
We thought the sauces on the menu were applied in the kitchen.
We only found out about the sauces in squeeze bottles at the end of our meal when we overheard a server (not ours) tell the table next to us about the available sauces.
We will be back because the food was good. And now that we know about the sauces…..it will make the food even better.
Tried out a family dinner for 4 and definitely was not disappointed in the quantity of meat! Delish sides as well that you can choose from. The Mac and cheese was nice, jalapeño corn bread was on point, coleslaw was good and the baked beans weren’t bad.
The have a sauce station where you go get your own bbq sauces to eat your meal with. Get to try everything.
Was trying to figure out birthday dinner and we came here.
They do a birthday treat for anyone celebrating their birthday and I have to say definitely one of the best ones around lately.
Koodos to the 2 servers that were working there Tuesday March 3rd. It was crazy busy when we got there, but they were doing a great job.
I preface this review by saying I tried to go OMGosh BBQ since everyone recommended it, but I went on Friday and they were out of ribs and brisket, tried another restaurant on Saturday then returned to OMGosh on Sunday and they are closed. So I Googled the next spot and voila I found Smoke N Barrel and I was not disappointed..Matter of fact, I am enthralled that I found this place and didn’t eat at the other place. I was blown away by the atmosphere, people, and smoke rings.
Brielle was a great server. Professional, petite, and powerful. She commanded this restaurant, and it showed.
Now on to the food, in a word…. orgasmic.
The brisket and ribs melt in your mouth. The homemade sauces were great, I recommend the Dads Root beer sauce and Mackinnons Maple. The only complaint is have is the didn’t have enough Fritos in the Frito pie, but they had so much else on their it’s a miniscule complaint. I just love my southern frito pie to have fritos, Texas understands my complaint. Lol
The brisket is one of the best I have ever had, and I you follow my reviews you know I eat BBQ all over this blue dot we inhabit. Excellent job, Smoke N Barrel. In the words of Terminator, “I’ll be back”
