Our first time at Umami Sushi & Grill, and it was a fantastic experience! This is a low-key, neighborhood-style spot that delivers amazing sushi without the fuss. We tried four different rolls, and the Carolina and Super Crunch were definitely our favorites—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made.
Service was quick and efficient, making the dining experience even better. We visited on a Sunday night, and it was a great spot to enjoy quality sushi without the usual crowds.
Overall, a hidden gem for sushi lovers. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Pros: large portions, one roll is enough for one adult, great variety of rolls and other dishes, great price. I loved the Vegan selection, kids 6$ roll is awesome. Everything was fresh, well made and tasty, no complaints.
Cons: Miso really is very salt, service is not as attentive as you would expect, we had many dirty dishes waiting to be picked up for quite some time, the atmosphere and interior is up to the price tag, nothing extraordinary, but good enough.

Great spot and meal overall in an inviting, intimate and clean restaurant. The miso soup was warm and comforting, the spring rolls were crispy and fresh. The sushi was very good and well presented. The tuna tataki really stood out — perfectly seared, tender, and full of flavor. Looking forward to coming back.

The display of grilled fish collar was exquisite with crisp leafy greens. A delightful contrast of texture paired with fresh fish roes plus noted appetizers shrimp tempura and fried calamari just gave us the right touch of crispy comfort.
Spicy Umami Ramen feature thin, chewy Japanese noodles accompanied by delicate broths with nuance and depth. Along with two caramelized pork belly chashu seared on all sides to develop a flavorful crust and delicious ajitsuke tamago.
On top of the scrumptious food, the staff are efficient without feeling rushed, relaxed without being slow—spot-on service. Highly recommended and we will be back soon.

I’ve driven past this place for YEARS and never thought about going in. Someone recommended it recently, so we went to check it out today. The outside doesn’t do justice to the inside atmosphere. Don’t judge a book by its cover!
The sushi was very good and the presentation so fun and happy. The plate decorations truly make it feel like a special meal. My son said “wow” when they laid the plate down.
The server was just so on his toes. At one point I saw him run to get something for someone. He was really kind and I could tell he wanted to do a great job. He only came to refill drinks once, but it was only him in the entire restaurant.
Overall it was a wonderful meal for us. The atmosphere and plate presentation are my favorite things about it. Next time I’ll probably get the lunch special because we eat with no thought to budget today!

Overall medium value for money. $125 for 5 with no alcohol is kinda high for what we got. Service was not great, we had a hard time understanding our server, had to ask for trivial things and food did not come out together. Food was a mix bag too, the kids loved the buns and the tempura chicken. Fried rice dish was massive (easily enough for two). The sushi and sashimi combo looked great but did not taste so great – sorry.
