La Dolce Vita delivered a truly delicious Italian dinner from start to finish. The pasta was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The tortellini was creamy and comforting, and the zozzona was rich and packed with meat. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was crisp, tender, and flavorful, and the fresh baked bread was warm, soft, and impossible to stop eating. Add in attentive, friendly service and a cozy, inviting ambiance, and it all comes together beautifully. Best of all, the quality easily matches the price, making it a great spot for a fantastic Italian meal without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!

Have a table reserved. Parking is difficult. We were near the cove so walked a street. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing. Would definitely recommend it was Italian cuisine. I loved the desserts too.

I truly enjoyed the spaghetti and chicken parmigiana. The marinara sauce was beautifully seasoned, striking a confident balance between acidity and depth, clearly made with care rather than haste.
The garlic bread was excellent—aromatic, well-toasted, and indulgent without being heavy.
Our server was gracious and attentive, consistently ensuring our comfort with a level of professionalism that elevated the experience.

Great restaurant for business or personal family get together. Even during a weekday, they were very busy. The restaurant is a bit small and can get loud. Our server suggested wine was fantastic and reasonably priced.
The food was great. Service was fantastic! Desserts were a bit too sweet but they were good. Overall, great experience.

The food at La Dolce Vita was phenomenal. The calamari was fresh, well seasoned, and melted in your mouth- the addition of fried pickled peppers was an excellent choice. Reservations are recommended, as it was busy even on a Monday night- there was a slight wait without a reservation but there is so much to look at in the area while you wait. The bread for the table was fresh and the sun dried tomato dipping oil was amazing, I definitely recommend taking a jar home with you! Connie was our server and she was so friendly and genuine with her recommendations. The Tiramisu was the perfect close to the meal, bursting with richness from the espresso and brightness of fresh strawberries. The ambiance of the restaurant transports you directly to the al fresco dining of Italy. If you’re looking for a great dining experience in La Jolla, make it this one.
