Amazing food and service! Came in for lunch and ate inside. I’ve been here many times for the bar scene at night but never came in for lunch. E dry thing was perfect. Best Philly in Charleston hands down!

I got the Sam’s burger which was great. That addition of a little sausage does the trick! The french fries, while basic, were very good and arrived at our table hot. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was good but she was disappointed with the chips, expecting warm, homemade ones but they were ok.
The bartender was our “server” so had his hands full with the bar and all the tables but he did a pretty good job of keeping us taken care of.
You had to go through the “private” part of the bar, through some storage, to get to the restroom, which made me wonder if I was in the right place, but it was clean and fully functioning.
It is more of a bar than a restaurant, with a “bar” feel but overall, we were satisfied and would indefinitely become back for that Sam’s burger!

The food was pretty good. I got a burger loaded and with cheese (they forgot my bacon!). It was done very well; thick and juicy. I prefer a thin, smash burger, but it was pretty good. Onion rings were crisp and flavorful without too much breading. Wife got the Reuben (I ate half) and it was very good, but needed more sauce. The chef didn’t care for the way our fries turned out, so they not us a fresh batch without even asking! Nice! Service was excellent. The side of the restaurant we were seated looked like they were using it partially for storage, and the restroom needed some real attention. Overall, I’d still recommend this place if you like thick burgers.

Honestly a total dive. Unfortunately the food was not great. Had the French dip and the meat was dry, over cooked and warmed up. The bread was good, but of course that was brought in… Bathroom was dirty.. basically one of those places where washing your hands requires you to touch something more dangerous than your private and personal waste. Looks like they don’t care and it is reflected in the quality of the experience and the food.

Sam’s Uptown Café is one of those spots where you sit down, take one bite, and immediately remember why you came. Food’s on point every time, the crew treats you like you’ve been coming there for years, and the whole place just has that ‘you’re in the right spot’ vibe. Easy five stars

The spicy chicken sandwich was the best I have had anywhere. Love that everything on it was perfect! The French fries were hot and tasty. Husband got the Reuben sandwich and also commented on how tasty his food was. I did give him a bite of my sandwich and he did say, “you won” so I think my sandwich was better. Service was good and food came out in time expected to cook it. We went after lunch (around 2 ish) so there were not that many people in the place. We would definitely come back.

Went in for the Game of Thrones themed brunch. Very creative. Was the first brunch I’ve been to there. All of our food was great. I had steak and eggs and my friends went with the Lazy Dragon (alligator). I didn’t get any of the alligator but it looked fantastic. Won’t be my last trip to Sam’s. Was a little slow getting food and service but overall very good. Gravy was excellent.

The sign says Sam’s sports bar now. It’s a small dive bar but the food was absolutely amazing and affordable. I got the prime rib sandwich and I’ve never had one so flavorful and fresh fries with savory au jus sauce. My husband got the southwest burger and it was high quality, flavorful with a bite. Only suggestion is to ask for more house sauce. Thick burger, very crispy and fresh tasting bacon. Would recommend to any one.

If you want somewhere that smells like it hasn’t been cleaned in 5 years, go here. I went to get some late night grub but immediately walked about because of the smell. Ive been to plenty of bars and they havent smelled like this.

Couldn’t be more happy with this place! Went to see Smile Empty Soul and was amazed at the friendliness of the staff including the bartender Brian aka Hendo. Drinks were on point and when we ordered food……well that done it!!! Id give this place a 50 star review if I could. Best moz sticks,bbq tenders,and rings I’ve had in a very long time….if ever!
