Oh my goodness! So delicious! Came with my work team on a training trip! We had a great time and aname was our waiter. He was kind, patient, and answered all of our questions. I’ve never been to Illinois so it was a wonderful first time for me. I love sushi so I will definitely be recommending this place!

Contacted the restaurant & have gotten 0 Response on this level of experience/service. Plastic found in multiple rolls. Will not be returning since this establishment does not care to make things right towards the customer experience. Huge disappointment since I been getting sushi here since moving to the area.

Dined and carried out several times. This is prob the best sushi we’ve had yet and we’ve tried many. We love that the rolls and super soft, fresh and delicious. Even our daughter loves the shrimp Temura roll and she isn’t much of a sushi eater! We find the seaweed to be very soft- its like you don’t even notice it! (Other places have it so chewy and hard!)
However, it is a bit pricey but very good!

This is one of those moments when the pictures look great, but the actual food quality is the complete opposite. The interior is nice, the menu looks appealing — but the food is just bad.
The sushi looked like it was sliced by a drunk chef — uneven, sloppy, and tiny. Each piece was almost half the size of what you’d expect. The California roll looked like a child mashed it together, and the crab stick inside was about a third of the normal size.
As for the ramen, it came with a plain boiled egg — which is just lazy. It takes almost no effort to marinate an egg properly for ramen, but they clearly didn’t bother.
Our waiter, Andy, was nice, but we ended up waiting almost 20 minutes just to get the check, and finally had to go up ourselves to pay.
Never coming back. If you’re looking for proper sushi, real ramen, and decent service — this is not the place.

I ate here 2 times during my stay in the area, and I’m glad I stopped in. Elvin and Alexa are both great hosts and can give you ideas on the menu. They had a nice sized bar to sit and talk and watch movies while you ate. The menu was large. I had only the sushi rolls and sashimi, but there were other styles and combos too. The rolls were good in size as well as the thickness for the sashimi cuts. I found everything I had was fresh and flavorful. They have draft beer and bottled. Also a nice mix of flavored sake. The place is clean and comfortable. The food is good, and the service is friendly. You should stop by and give them a try.

We came today after seeing the 4.5-star rating and had high hopes for a nice dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant, everything is clean, and the staff is friendly. The menus are nicely designed — but when the food arrived, we were completely disappointed.

I am surprised I have never left a review for Otobo!! This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants in the suburbs!! Every time I have dined here, I have had an exceptional experience!!! I have brought friends and family here just because I want them to fall in love with this place! I could come here just for the shishito peppers!! They are amazing! But all of the Maki rolls are amazing! The service is always warm, attentive, and welcoming!! The drinks are delicious! My husband and I always get a bottle of Saki and it’s always good!! Whenever we want to go eat good sushi we go to Otobo!! Hidden gem!! Highly recommend trying it out!

Service is exemplary. Waitress took the time to explain the menu and offered suggestions. Sushi rolls were good especially the veggie crunch, California, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura. Chicken fried rice and Ramen were ok.
