***best lasagna in Taipei***

Bolognese lasagna – clear star here. It’s rich, comforting, perfectly layered, and just deeply satisfying.

Reginette ai Frutti di Mare – fresh, herbaceous, not overly sauced. Each seafood is individually cooked to perfection and not a dump-all, one pan approach.

Insalata Invernale – thoughtful in the blend of garden veg mixed with yummy dressing. Salad alone nets you all the macro/micro nutrients for the day.

The space feels homey, and the staff’s smiles are honestly contagious. It’s such a refreshing contrast to a lot of new dining spots in Taipei where service charges are automatic but the service itself feels nonexistent and robotic.

The fundamentals are so well dialed in (quality ingredients, technique, harmony, chefs touch, and consistency….our 3rd visit) It wouldn’t be surprising to see this place creeping into Michelin-level territory. 加油

The Lasagna Bar is a real one. A true hole-in-the-wall tucked into a quiet Minsheng alley. Some people complain about the tight space, but this is Taipei. If you’re afraid of elbows and close proximity with strangers, there’s plenty of louder places serving worse pasta.

What matters is the food, and the food delivers. My wife and I ordered the Vegetariana and the Siciliana, opened a bottle of Barbera, and settled in. The flavors are deep and thoughtful, the kind you don’t rush. If I’m being honest, I’d personally go for lasagna sheets a touch more al dente and a cheese crust pushed a little harder. I like texture and crispy cheese crusts. Not a criticism, just preference. Next time, I’ll ask if they can meet me there.

The room feels like eating at someone’s residence. You’re shoulder to shoulder with strangers, staff sliding past, dishes being washed in full view. No curtain, no performance. Everything’s out in the open, and it works because nothing here is pretending to be something else. Watching plates get scrubbed while finishing a great meal feels right.

This is comfort food without laziness. A place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t care about scaling up or pleasing the wrong crowd. The kind of spot you hope stays small, crowded, and honest. Lasagna Bar deserves its flowers. Quiet neighborhood and a loud soul.

Their bread was tasty just hard as a brick. The meatballs in canned tomato sauce were as you’d imagine them to be. The tiny serving of lasagna which is probably roughly 10 USD wasn’t anything special. The pistachio ice cream was pretty good and creamy. The interior design is like dining in someone’s kitchen which is neat for a group of people. You even have to pay for water haha sorry but we aren’t in Italy.

Small bistro offers many selections of Italian cuisine not only lasagna. The reservation is recommended for weekend since we are walk-in and sitted in the bar next to kitchen.

Honestly, I was pretty skeptical coming here since there hasn’t been a decent lasagna spot in Taiwan yet. We came for lunch and were lucky to have made a reservation — seating is quite limited. The restaurant actually has two connected spaces with the kitchen in the middle.

Their menu is bilingual and lists the ingredients, but if you’re not familiar with Italian dishes or pasta names, I’d recommend looking up photos first. The menu descriptions alone don’t really do the dishes justice. Prices are definitely on the higher end, so I wasn’t expecting too much at first.

We ordered the lasagna (of course), prosciutto e fichi, and ravioli — and wow, everything was incredibly flavorful. The taste still lingers in my mouth, and it’s honestly one of those meals that sticks in your mind long after.

I’d recommend sharing the dishes since the portions are slightly larger than typical servings in Taiwan, and the flavors are on the heavier, richer side — perfect for splitting so you can try more without getting overwhelmed.

The only downside is the ventilation — you can smell the kitchen smoke, and your clothes will probably pick it up too. Not a huge issue, but worth noting.

Highly recommend this spot, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

We had to get take out because the placed was packed… and rightfully so! When I walked in, it was warm and cozy on a cold night, and it felt like a big hug was waiting for me!!! Oh, and the lasagna is delicious. We don’t live close, but it’s worth making the drive to get more of this yummy lasagna!!!

Delicious food in a quiet neighborhood. I have visited the tianmu store previously and this store have the same great food quality! The only problem maybe is because the kitchen is in the same room as one of the dining spot, so after dine in your hair and clothes will be smelly. But good food makes it worth it.

The lasagna they served is comparable to the one I had in Rome, Italy. It is simple and captures the real taste of lasagna. I love the thin lasagna pasta they used. I was surprised with the gnocchi. I expected to have chewy and smooth gnocchi, the one they have has a texture which the sauce adheres more it which make it better. I highly recommend the pecan pie with pistachio gelato. But I guess it is better with vanilla gelato. I highly recommend this place. The ambiance inside the restaurant is chill and relaxing. But, the space is small so getting a table might be a problem. They serve food relatively fast. 🙂 I am happy and satisfied with my visit here. Sharing two main dish and two dessert is very satisfying and value for money. 🙂

Mamma mia!
10 years in Taiwan and I’ve finally found a good lasagna!
The food was a bit expensive, but the taste and presentation was definitely worth every penny.
The place is small, only capable of serving 8 people at time (4 tables), but you will want to eat inside the food is served.
