Bolognese lasagna – clear star here. It’s rich, comforting, perfectly layered, and just deeply satisfying.
Reginette ai Frutti di Mare – fresh, herbaceous, not overly sauced. Each seafood is individually cooked to perfection and not a dump-all, one pan approach.
Insalata Invernale – thoughtful in the blend of garden veg mixed with yummy dressing. Salad alone nets you all the macro/micro nutrients for the day.
The space feels homey, and the staff’s smiles are honestly contagious. It’s such a refreshing contrast to a lot of new dining spots in Taipei where service charges are automatic but the service itself feels nonexistent and robotic.
The fundamentals are so well dialed in (quality ingredients, technique, harmony, chefs touch, and consistency….our 3rd visit) It wouldn’t be surprising to see this place creeping into Michelin-level territory. 加油
What matters is the food, and the food delivers. My wife and I ordered the Vegetariana and the Siciliana, opened a bottle of Barbera, and settled in. The flavors are deep and thoughtful, the kind you don’t rush. If I’m being honest, I’d personally go for lasagna sheets a touch more al dente and a cheese crust pushed a little harder. I like texture and crispy cheese crusts. Not a criticism, just preference. Next time, I’ll ask if they can meet me there.
The room feels like eating at someone’s residence. You’re shoulder to shoulder with strangers, staff sliding past, dishes being washed in full view. No curtain, no performance. Everything’s out in the open, and it works because nothing here is pretending to be something else. Watching plates get scrubbed while finishing a great meal feels right.
This is comfort food without laziness. A place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t care about scaling up or pleasing the wrong crowd. The kind of spot you hope stays small, crowded, and honest. Lasagna Bar deserves its flowers. Quiet neighborhood and a loud soul.
Their menu is bilingual and lists the ingredients, but if you’re not familiar with Italian dishes or pasta names, I’d recommend looking up photos first. The menu descriptions alone don’t really do the dishes justice. Prices are definitely on the higher end, so I wasn’t expecting too much at first.
We ordered the lasagna (of course), prosciutto e fichi, and ravioli — and wow, everything was incredibly flavorful. The taste still lingers in my mouth, and it’s honestly one of those meals that sticks in your mind long after.
I’d recommend sharing the dishes since the portions are slightly larger than typical servings in Taiwan, and the flavors are on the heavier, richer side — perfect for splitting so you can try more without getting overwhelmed.
The only downside is the ventilation — you can smell the kitchen smoke, and your clothes will probably pick it up too. Not a huge issue, but worth noting.
Highly recommend this spot, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
10 years in Taiwan and I’ve finally found a good lasagna!
The food was a bit expensive, but the taste and presentation was definitely worth every penny.
The place is small, only capable of serving 8 people at time (4 tables), but you will want to eat inside the food is served.
All their dishes are awesome, especially their vege soups and pistachio gelato, always asked for two servings for myself to enjoy
