We came here for lunch. I ordered the mixed grill lunch for about $15. It comes with beef, chicken, and kofta, and 2 pita breads. The staff were friendly and quick with cooking the food. The rice pilaf was very tasty. I didn’t care much for the beef because it was a bit chewy and dry. I would prefer if it was like medium rare to medium. The chicken was very tender and juicy. The kofta had some nice flavor. Pita bread was hot and fresh. Food portions are not small. There is a large dining area. We parked on the far right side where it’s not so crowded. They have parking on the left and back but it’s kind of cramped.

I’ve driven by this place quite a bit in my travels and haven’t stopped in until today. I do enjoy this kind of food and I’ve decided I’ll judge a place like this by their chicken shawarma. So, that’s what I went with in a bowl. When I said I’d take it to go I swear the guy told me 10 minutes, but no sooner did I sit down and open my phone and he told me it was ready. I picked it up and was met with a friendly smile behind the counter and went on my way. It did not disappoint, healthy filled bowl with plenty of moist chicken and good dollops of hummus and garlic sauce and a bit of salad. My only disappointment is that in all the times I’ve driven by the is place that this was my first time eating here. Thank you and I’ll be back.

First time here. I’m a big fan of Mediterranean food. The cashier recommended a Mediterranean Bowl, so I chose the gyro bowl. It was fantastic! One of the best bowls I’ve ever had. It came with the gyro meat, yellow rice, tabouli, tzatziki sauce, and hummus. I was extremely impressed. You could taste each ingredient and the tabouli was very fresh. I look forward to coming back and highly recommend.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and the food is consistently wonderful! Everyone is so friendly from the cooks to the manager to the front staff! Holly and Emma are the best, I hurt my foot and it was hard for me to walk so they walked my food out to my car for a carry out order! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for fresh food with friendly staff!!

I’ve been living in Downers Grove for 4 years and honestly can’t believe I just found CEDAR Grill. Until now, I usually had to drive to Lombard or 75th Street whenever I wanted good Mediterranean food, so discovering this place was a really pleasant surprise.
The food is full of flavor especially the falafel, You can tell everything is made with care. The prices are very decent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the lady at the front was very kind and makes sure everything is good.
This was my second visit, and I’ll definitely be a regular customer. Highly recommend!
Ps- Except beef everything here is Halal!

Tried this place on a Saturday night with my husband. We were the second customers who had dinner inside the restaurant however there were many take outs. We ordered Veggie Grape Leaves, Falafel wrap and Gyro Plate with Rice Pilaf. Food was delicious and tasty.
The ambiance was ok. The server was decent. As it’s located inside a plaza hence there are plenty of parking spots.
I would recommend this place! Give it a try!

First time trying Cedar Grill after hearing great things about the food – and we can confirm, the food is fantastic!
My husband and I arrived around 7:30 PM. We weren’t greeted when we walked in, which was fine, but once we got to the counter, the energy from the staff felt off. The girl at the register came off a bit aggressive and seemed uninterested in helping us.
Since it was our first visit, we had a few questions, but the interaction felt rushed and unfriendly.
After ordering, we were told dine-in was closed and only takeout was available – something that would’ve been helpful to know before placing the order. Especially confusing since there was a whole family dining inside at the time.
Our food was ready quickly — within 5 minutes — and we ate in the car. And wow, it lived up to the hype. Seriously, 9/10 on flavor, freshness, and portion size! While we were eating, we noticed the staff leaving around 7:45, even though the restaurant’s listed hours say they close at 8 PM. That urgency to shut down early definitely explains the rushed and cold service.
Food: (9/10)
Service: (1/10)
Vibes: (3/10)
Great food — but if you’re going close to closing time, just expect it to be a grab-and-go experience with a not so pleasant service!
Ordered 2 chicken kabob bowls for $34.

I’m not sure why I haven’t tried this place before. Tonight was my second visit and I love their food and portion sizes. My first time I ordered the gyro bowl and tonight I tried their chicken kabob dinner – both were excellent. I’ve found my new favorite place. Service was fast and friendly, I can’t say enough good things about them.

Cedar Grill in a small strip mall just west of FannyMay Candies, on Ogden and Finley in Downers Grove. The food was good, Holly at the counter made me feel welcome. Some of the dishes I’m unfamiliar with, but I would like to try others. Getting into the parking lot coming from the west is a little tricky but doable . The entrance is on the east side of the building, so I recommend parking the east side of the building , worth checking out.
