It was a pleasant find. The food was tasty – tad bit on the salty side for me. Even my husband said his steak was salty and he likes salt. Service was great – our waiter was friendly and attentive but intrusive. The place is loud though. It’s lively I should say. Those who want a romantics where you can talk and hear each other – may not be suitable for you.

After hearing so much about this place, just dined here with the highest expectations. The place is very cozy but also high end and lovely. The service was good but had to remind a few times when asking for condiments. I tried the oysters and while cooked perfectly they were not as tasteful; I thought they lacked seasoning and were too sweet and cinnamony. I asked for medium cooked rib eye and got mine way over cooked and under seasoned; I’m sorry but for a steakhouse that’s kinda unacceptable. On the positive side, all the sides I tried were very tasty: Mac and cheese, ceaser salad, broccolini, mashed potatoes needless to say, parking is always hard to find around here too so plan accordingly..

Probably the best steak I ever have!
In LA for a 4 nights for business. Really wanted a steak on the last night and Arthur J didn’t disappoint!
The bar area was very loud but the dining area was not too bad.
Food: The bone marrow was ok, a bit too salty. The steak was just fantastic! Juicy and tasty! And Nicki, my host was great! Very helpful!

Based on the food alone, this was one of our favorite steakhouse experiences we’ve ever had.

Parking was somewhat difficult to find. We parked at a meter and paid a few dollars for two hours.

We had a reservation and were seated immediately.

We ordered the A5 Wagyu and the Steak Sampler. Per the suggestion of our waiter, we ordered the Wagyu with “Medium” doneness. It was exceptional. Probably the best steak we’ve ever had. We wish we would’ve ordered more but the price kept us away. As for the Steak Sampler, it was fun to try different cuts of meat. Our NY Strip was overcooked but he rest of the food was so good that we didn’t want to send it back.

We also ordered Mashed Potatoes as a side, knowing that we didn’t order a lot of steak. The Potatoes were okay and not the amount we expected for the price. They do pair well with steak, though, and it was fun to mix in the steak sauces. The Vietnamese Caramel was our favorite sauce. It was recommended by our waiter and wasn’t something we would be selected on our own, so kudos to him.

We received free Chocolate Cake and free Champagne for celebrating our dating anniversary there. The champagne wasn’t anything special but the Chocolate Cake was good.

If we went back, we’d for sure order the A5 Wagyu again but maybe try other offerings for the rest of the meal.

I took my parents here as a treat and we were so beyond impressed with the entire experience. We were blessed with the best waiter of all time Johnny Oh. He was attentive, entertaining and helpful. The food was some of the best I’ve had- while the price point is high, you absolutely get what you pay for in every sense. Thanks Johnny for making our night so special.

Arthur J is nothing short of a culinary gem nestled in Los Angeles, and my recent dining experience there was truly phenomenal. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for what would be an unforgettable evening.

The menu is a tantalizing showcase of expertly crafted dishes that, in my opinion, highlight the finest ingredients. I skipped the appetizer course and went straight for the dry-aged steak, cooked to perfection and bursting with rich, savory flavors. Each bite melted in my mouth, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to high-quality cuts and expert preparation.

The sides were equally impressive; the truffle mac and cheese was indulgent and creamy, while the seasonal vegetables offered a refreshing balance to my meal. The wine selection was extensive and thoughtfully curated, with knowledgeable staff on hand to recommend the perfect pairing.

What truly set Arthur J apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed while also sharing insights into the menu. Their passion for food and hospitality was evident and added a personal touch to the experience.

To top it all off, the dessert was a masterpiece – the ideal ending to a perfect meal – leaving a lasting impression of sweetness.

In conclusion, Arthur J in Los Angeles is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. Whether you’re a steak aficionado or simply looking for an outstanding meal, this restaurant delivers on every front!

Service was excellent and we never felt rushed.
If I had to nit pick- I would have loved a classic salad choice.

A very short stop over in LA before we flew home. A stumbled across the Arthur J reviews and happily booked. Which is a must. They book out most nights of the week. I love this place. The incredibly friendly wait staff of Alonzo and Christian. Our very fleeting dinner was exceptional. Not only were our steaks cooked to perfection but Alonzo and Christian just made our night that much better. We love how they categorised their wine list….

My team had a holiday event here in their private room and it was a great experience. They have different prefixe menu options and we had a 4 course set. I had the shrimp cocktail while my boyfriend had the steak tartare (which he was a huge fan of). I opted for the wedge salad while he had the Caesar; I enjoyed mine a lot in large part because of the generous bacon sprinkles. I had the 16 oz New York strip for my main while he had the 12 oz filet. We alongside others noticed that the meat was on the rarer side of what was requested, and some people sent their steaks back to get them cooked further (and the Arthur J was obliging). Sides were shared family style. For dessert, we had a whole serving to ourselves. The sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was super sweet and filling. The cake room was less sweet and was a Buche Noel. Our servers were attentive and nice. We all left feeling very full and with leftovers.

I am a carnivore! I’ve eaten steak all my life and wherever I go. I’d fly to LA just to eat here again. I live in Asia and it would be a very long flight. But worth it. Also: try the fried Bruxelles sprouts. You won’t believe it otherwise, just how good they are. Thanks for being a great memory of the last dinner of our USA 2025 trip!
