I was craving oxtail and since I was in the mall I decided to try this place again!
This time I actually had meat on the bones and not just a serving of bones like my previous visit and everything was pretty good. I just didn’t like the drink, pineapple ginger. Honestly I’m not sure about going back this meal was to pricey for me,cravings or not. I really don’t like the card swipes where tips automatically pop up you feel obligated to leave one and I don’t like this feature.
So the meal was like $17.50 the drink was $5.25 or $5.50 I wanted a small but they only have one size I wonder why so that and the lowest tip on the screen and tax was a grand total of $28.60

I’ve been to this place twice. First time I went was around lunchtime and there was a Caribbean woman working. She gave me and my mom good portions and the food was great. A “small” in the black plastic container was enough for two small meals for me and I thought I had found my new favorite restaurant in town. I went back tonight with my mom around 5 or 6 and an American guy was working. I paid $24 for a small plate for me and for my mom. I can’t comment on her food but mine was a waste of money. The stewed chicken was good but the rice was dried out and the plantains were hard. And the portion of rice was tiny, not that I really care because it’s not like I want more inedible rice. I’m giving three stars because the first time was so good but tonight was a 1 star experience, bad enough for me to write this review. I won’t be trying them a third time. I can pay less at Boston Market and know that the food is going to be as fresh and good as every other time I’ve been there.

Was on the mall today, the 4th of July with my family, I’m a Jamaican by birth and decided to support my people, but boy was I DISAPPOINTED, I really don’t know what’s going on in America with some of these so called Jamaican restaurants. Some of you guys are a set of joke and need a serious rain check, I was charged $17 for a so called large curry water with a few pieces of bones, that’s supposedly to be goat, about 6 pieces of hard burn plantains, some white rice, which was so fill with lumps it’s was funny. I’m a chef by profession and my specialty is Jamaican food, so I know when food is good, especially when it from my backyard! These Jamaican restaurants in Middletown are all a set of Jokes! The Chinese are licking you’ll for six! There Food is much cheaper and taste way better than what you guy are pushing out! A JOKE, SMH!!

Place is a nice addition to the mall, good move away from your basic fast food restaurants. I ordered the stew chicken… in my opinion it was OK. They did give you a good amount for the price. More flavorful than the Master Wok next door.

Happy to find a Jamaican restaurant in the food court which is a welcomed change compared to other options. The portions were generous and the curry chicken was full of flavor. The home made beef patty was full and filled with flavor. We shared a small curry chicken combo, added a beef patty, and finished our shopping in the mall.

Yes Sir. Scotch Bonnet. Finally I can get a Jamaican patty with Coco Bread.
Referred from a friend of mine when you visit the Galleria Mall in Middletown. It’s in the food court.
I got 1 for a friend and 2 for me.

I like to come here when I’m at the mall for a quick lunch! The rice tends to be dry if you come in the later part of the day. The jerk chicken is flavorful and the jerk sauce is the right amount of spice! The staff is friendly and attentive! I ordered a chicken patty a couple of times but ended up with beef. I suppose it happens. I ordered with coco bread and the bread wasn’t cut open. But all in all a decent spot for lunch! The prices are decent also!

Handed me my food without closing it properly, spilled all over the Christmas gifts I just purchased ruining them. Sat down to eat the food and the chicken was completely pink inside. Got back up to tell him about it and give him this chance to make it right. There was another customer there yelling for someone to help her because the place was unattended. When he asked me what was wrong he denied that anything was wrong with my food and that it was fully cooked, despite open pink chicken staring him in the face. He also did nothing to make it right regarding my ruined items. Really wanted to like this place as it’s a welcome change to the food that’s usually available. Definitely will never go again, and will do everything I can to make sure no one else does either. One of many lessons learned from A Bronx Tale: “for 20 bucks he’s out of your life.” No refund or discount offered, but I’ll pay $20 for a good lesson every time. Go somewhere else.

I went there and I hate to say it, but the food was not expected as some people raved about. The rice was too soggy and beans under cooked. The Chicken tasted bland and it too was under cooked. I have to say it had the spices present but who wants to be crunching on them while trying to eat. They could do better, seemed like a rushed job of cooking. I will revisit in a week or month to see if there is improvement in the quality and tastiness of their food. So I am giving just the 1 star for now.
