This was probably the best restaurant my wife and I ate at during our 5 day trip to Playa del Carmen. The food was delicious and as authentically Indian as it gets. The cooks are all Indian.
The portions were very well served and the cocktails were made to perfection.
A side note: the owner was walking around the restaurant in a non-intrusive and friendly way. Which is always a sign that they care about your experience. The waiting staff were all very professional and on top of things.
All in all it was an absolute delight to dine there.
If you like Indian food you will love India Jones.

We came to India Jones because of the amazing reviews and were honestly skeptical… but BELIEVE THE HYPE, this place is the real deal.
The chicken tikka masala had a great spice kick, and the garlic naan was top tier—together easily a 9.5/10. Our server Caesar recommended a vegetarian dish with cauliflower and potatoes that was light, flavorful, and well balanced (9/10).
Service was impeccable, very attentive without being overwhelming. Clean space, great attention to detail. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic dinner at India Jones. The waiter assisted my wife with ordering a dish with no spice, as it is not her thing.
Great service and great food.
I had the butter chicken and friens had the lamb shank. Great night.

We had a fantastic dining experience at India Jones in Playa del Carmen. The service by Carlos Daniel Encalada was excellent, attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our meal. We ordered the Beef Pepper Fry and the Lamb Shank Curry, and both dishes were absolutely delicious, full of rich flavor and perfectly prepared.
The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, with background music at just the right volume and a great mix of songs that added to the experience. A nice personal touch was the owner stopping by our table to check how everything was. Highly recommend for amazing food and outstanding service!

I honestly did not expect to find some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had in Playa del Carmen… but India Jones completely blew me away.
You wouldn’t think you’d get truly authentic, deeply flavorful Indian cuisine in Mexico… but the spices, the balance, and the richness of every dish were outstanding. The flavors were layered and bold without being overwhelming, and you can tell they really know what they’re doing in the kitchen.
The menu has a great variety, whether you’re into classic curries, tandoori dishes, or something vegetarian. Everything tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned, and made with care. The spice levels were spot on, and they’re happy to adjust if you want more heat.
On top of that, the service was fantastic, our waiter Caesar was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
If you’re in Playa del Carmen and craving Indian food, India Jones is an absolute must. Total hidden gem.

Cannot recommend India Jones enough! Both the staff and owners were incredibly attentive. Our server Caesar was informative and made suggestions based on our preferences. I recommend the Roti Pe Boti, Lamb Shank Biryani & Bhuna Paneer Tikka… the Roti Pe Boti is the most tender-pull apart-perfectly spiced beef dish! The samosas were lovely, flavourful and very authentic. The Paneer was one of the best I’ve had – not drenched in sauce but marinated and grilled beautifully. Everything that we were served was well prepared, spiced and just incredible flavours. I cannot say enough – One of the best experiences we’ve had in Playa!

The food was absolutely amazing with authentic flavors and huge portions that left us more than satisfied. The setting is perfect, with beautiful views overlooking 5th Avenue, and the service was truly outstanding, our server Daniel and the owner were second to none—probably the best we’ve had anywhere in Playa. Everything was amazing, from the service the comfortable chairs but the food big WOW. Our server was very informative and 100% correct explaining every detail of the plates we chose, mentioning the apps we big enough to share, I didn’t listen to him and ordered one for each, paneer tikka and chicken tikka were the best we ever had anywhere. The flavours of all our mains were perfect and not overpowering. We had the butter chicken and Aloo Gobi Udaygiri (potato’s with cauliflower) Thank you so much we will return

This was my first time at India Jones and I enjoyed it. We started with samosa chaat and crunchy fried chicken. Both were very good. Samosa chaat is a creative dish, a deconstructed samosa. The flavor was excellent. The chicken was very crunchy, moist, and had a nice sauce. We then shared butter chicken, saag paneer, butter naan, and rice. The butter chicken was moist, but what made it so good was the sauce. I don’t think that I’ve had better and I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food. The saag paneer was also good. The sauce was very smooth and had a nice flavor. I’m not a big fan of paneer. In my opinion, there isn’t much flavor, but it seems like it’s the only cheese in India, and I know many people love it. The saag sauce made the dish and the paneer was fine. The naan was generously buttered and we used it to sop up both of the sauces. We sat on the balcony which was enjoyable.

I moved to Playa six months ago and I loved the creativity of the name India Jones. What I would come to realize though is that this is a really special place in the city. The restaurant exudes warmth and friendliness. Sanat and his team are absolutely amazing. And the food… well it is simply amazing every time. I chose India Jones for my last meal as I am heading back to the US and it impressed as always.
