I have loved El Vaquero since I started eating there 20 years ago. The chips are plentiful, the food is good and the service is speedy. For the longest time I only ordered the Cuco’s Special, now called Pollo Marinado. I’ve since branched out and everything I’ve tried has been good. I really like their tacos, but wish you could order them by the each rather than a full order of three.
Their margaritas are delicious and strong. However even though they serve alcohol I would consider it to be a family restaurant and I have brought my children to eat there.

The place is bigger than what it looks on the outside. The margarita was great. Tiffany was an awesome server. The beans and rice were good. The chicken was soggy. But we will be back. Tuesday kids eat free (one for each adult).

Service was excellent . Place is clean and good artwork. We came during restaurant week. The food was good and the portion size was perfect. We didn’t leave hungry at all. We had the azteca soup, they ran out of fried ice cream and it was what we really wanted. The chicken chimichanga is very moist and has an abundance of flavor and juice .

Come for the Margs…Stay for Caesar!
Our group of 7 had a great time at this location. Our server Caeser was amazing, with both his service and his interactions. Our group will definitely be back thanks for him.
Food came out quickly and portions were large. A little on the pricer end but if you divide it into two meals it may be worth it. The margaritas were great and the restaurant felt clean with a positive environment.
Ask for Caesar…unless we’re there since we’ll be requesting him as well.

I was in here today and I really enjoyed my service along with the food. It is very authentic Mexican food. It was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend anyone in the area wanting a great lunch to come here. They have an awesome patio where you can sit out and eat your lunch with a wide selection of alcohol! I highly recommend this location!

My 1st Mexican restaurant in Columbus. Its a small restaurant tucked away that had a pretty big menu. My food was darn good too. Very flavorful food I must say. My margarita was fire too!! I also tried the make your own combo and got the tamale and taco. Tamale was pretty good and big. The service was great, too. I have no compliants and recommend trying them out! I would definitely go again.

We popped in Friday around 5:35 ish – it was not crowded and we were seated right away. They were quick to deliver the salsa and chips and to take our drink order.
With the heat of the day both my son and I ordered water. Their air conditioning felt nice as opposed to outside in the 93 degree heat.
Our waitress stopped by. My son isn’t a fan of Mexican cuisine and the only option was a chicken tender and fries kids meal – because he is over 12 they charge $3 more…

Why charge more?
Because of that I ordered off the ala carte menu to ensure I just spent the amount his kids meal should have cost.
My meal was more than enough!! And next time he said he wouldn’t spend the almost -$11 for 3 tenders and fries that were okayish.
My chicken chimichanga was standard fare and the cheese sauce on top was good. I asked the waitress to leave off the sour cream and add more guacamole in place, the tickle t doesn’t indicate what I asked for, just the no cream.
I have a corporate discount because they offer 10% off for several neighboring company employees. I did have to show proof (badges work). She forgot the 10% but quickly remembered it and whisked the ticket to correct.
We did get more chips because my kiddo wasn’t a fan of the coated fries, and they we gratis.
All in all I didn’t taste anything outstanding- just standard fare, with an up charge that I won’t pay again. (We don’t get this at any other Mexican place we frequent, so this is a standout to me).
While the food was good, the people were friendly, the pictures were gross with dust. Not just a little dust but the one by our booth was downright disgusting. This makes me look at other things closer and the place could use a deep clean overall. The back of the booth was dusty, and the bathrooms could use some extra care.

Went here on a Saturday evening and got seated right away. I got a beer and burrito deluxe plate and it was delicious. My server was really good and kind. My food came out really fast after I ordered it. I’m really impressed with this place and will be coming back.

As a Texan, I certify this restaurant as Exellente. Visited a few times for lunch and dinner and each dish I tried was awesome. Free chips upon seating which are cooked in-house daily and have a good thickness for scooping. Servers are friendly and food comes out fast.
