I recently stopped by Mahoneys, and overall it was a good experience with a few tradeoffs. First and foremost, the food was really good. Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, and it was clear the kitchen knows what they’re doing. The quality of the food alone makes this a place worth checking out.
The bar area was completely full, which is always a good sign. It created a lively atmosphere and showed that this is clearly a popular spot, especially for drinks and socializing. That said, because the bar was packed, the only open tables available were in the back of the restaurant. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but it did feel a bit removed from the main energy of the place.
One thing worth noting is the music volume. The music was really loud, especially if you’re trying to have a conversation. If you’re there for a high-energy, nightlife-type vibe, that may be exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re hoping for a quieter meal, it could be a bit much.
Overall, great food, a busy bar, and a strong social scene—just be prepared for loud music and limited seating options during peak times.

Great location next to the Woodlands Waterway! I was expecting a Chili’s or Applebee’s type restaurant. Nope. This is a pub/bar. Pleasantly surprised at the wonderful food selection for such a “get your drink on” atmosphere. Plenty of varied styles of seating, you seat yourself, so you get to pick your favorite…bar stools, regular table and chair, some 1/2 booths, long party tables, tall tables and tall chairs (which i love and chose).
The street tacos are on point. I picked one shrimp, one fish (both blackened), one brisket! I mean come on!!! Awesome combination and they come with chips and house queso. Daughter had a BLAT, bacon lettuce avocado tomato, with sweet potato fries…thumbs up. Wife had the Southwest burger and fries, she reports it was so yummy, topped with some sort of crunchies.
Kyle was very easy going and helpful. Like he enjoyed his work.
Now if you ever read my reviews, i always include the bathroom. Men’s…bar bathroom…surprise! Single regular restroom. No long line of troughs or wall of stalls. Nice. Had an East of the pond flare to it. Tall wood framed panels for the walls. No stark white fluorescents to rip you out of the ambiance in the main floor. See pic.
Somebody on site is definitely playing DJ. We got to walk my daughter down 80s pop lane. Yep all five of these songs are Michael Jackson, the next three are Cindy Lauper and these last 4 are the artist formerly known as Prince! Plus some other old favs. The volume almost doubled once we hit Raspberry Beret. Somebody’s a fan
We will definitely be back to try some of their specials, $10 chicken fried chicken…ok, now. That’s Wednesdays i think…

Mahoney’s in The Woodlands absolutely deserves some praise. They welcomed us with open arms for my daughter’s 14th birthday lunch, even with 13 of her friends in tow. When I called ahead, they were warm, reassuring, and made it clear that they’re a family-friendly spot before 9 pm — something I truly appreciated after another restaurant had been rude and unwilling to take a reservation.
Our waiter was wonderful. He took great care of the girls and kept such a positive attitude the whole time. The food was delicious, and they served our large group far quicker than I expected. Their kindness and attentiveness made the day special. Nothing but good things to say about them!

The restaurant was not busy (it was about 3 pm on a Saturday), but service was very slow and the waiter disappeared so we could not ask for him when we needed something. We did not get offered refills on our drinks or a check in on how we were liking everything. Food took a long time to come out compared to the level of patronage at the time. The check also took a long time to come out even though we were finished with the meal for awhile. The food was good, but our experience with the service wasn’t great.

P.s this is the only way to reply on reviews. As I stated 7 vodkas and 3 red wine as I knew between myself and my wife we only had 10 drinks. My point now is where did the 4 TITOS come from?? We certainly didn’t order them, ?. Hence me saying $231 was extortionate!!!

Nice place to go for Sunday Brunch. They have bottomless mimosas for a good price, and the service was good. The neighborhood and the establishment were both nice. I’ve had a better prepared steak elsewhere, but it was good enough. Overall, it’s a good spot.

We organized plans with the manager in advance and the place, atmosphere, wait staff, and food/drinks were great! Came here for brunch with a group of friends. The kitchen was backed up so the food came out slowly but it was well worth the wait. The drink service was quick and also very delicous. There was live music playing and the gentleman singing was amazing. Great atmosphere and a good time. Look forward to visiting again.
