Reviews
Lovely aviation theme with historic background.
All servings are prepared and served by long-term owners and employees.
Lots of pilots make this cafe part of thier regular stops.
Locals come for the homemade pie and coffee.
I had avocado toast and cherry pie and will order it again.
Easy 5 minute commute from town with plenty of parking for trailers and larger vehicles.
Aircraft tie downs and fuel available.
The Bad; Eggs came looking as if they did fried eggs and then oops let’s now make them a scramble and serve them, they came burned with burn cooked edges.
2. I have a hard time speaking up but it grossed me out and the waitress said we will remake them, and we have a new cook who’s learning . Ah ok great so new eggs come out look ok and better until I go to eat and they are under cooked. Now what ? The pancakes were rubbery and hard to cut.
The Good; I went to pay, and she said the bill doesn’t exist it’s on us, ah ok No I want to pay I’m not a complainer or drama queen, she says it’s ok it’s in use don’t worry about it, ( another waitress, I assume manager) says we have a new cook and where working out the kinks. Ah I say, well they need to slow down and pay attention to there cooking –
The good; it’s on the house and we hope you try it again and we are sorry about this!!
Awesome ok… it’s just ruined my morning is all and that’s on me, nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes and we all need to slow down so that we make better food for people in future i guess.
I will try again and see if it’s changed and better ,the reviews were really good and I try a lot of breakfast spots in the area.
Enjoy
Imagine being able to fly into the Jefferson County International Airport and share a meal at this quaint Cafe. We drove to the cafe but one can dream! We enjoyed watching the planes fly in and out of the airfield while we were there.
There are model airplanes hanging from the ceiling with other memorabilia on the walls. A Christmas tree occupied one corner. The ambiance was nice cozy and comfortable. The children enjoyed looking at all of the memorabilia and the were given gliders to assemble which we brought outside to fly. They also offer for purchase, posters and the glass with their logo.
The employees were so patient and kind. We were also given good selection tips.
The children started out with a vanilla and a chocolate shake. They were enormous! Their eyes got so big when the waitress set them down on the table. Ecstatic was an understatement! They enthusiastically started to devour them and from the smiles on their faces, they were extremely delicious.
My friend got the Runway Reuben. She said it was the best Reuben that she has ever eaten. The Monte Cristo was also very good! I had the fish and chips. The fish was crispy and delicious and the fries were good too. I wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw that came with the fish and chips.
We finished off the meal with a slice of Apple Pie and Ice Cream and a slice of a berry pie with ice cream. Both were wonderful!
Picky eater ratings:
Off of the children’s menu, grilled cheese and chicken tenders! Both scored high marks along with those milkshakes.
The cafe was neat and clean. There is the option to dine outside and during cold months the outside area is covered.
There is a nice playground on the side of the cafe that was enjoyed by the children.
There was a sign on the drive to the cafe that said the restaurant was for sale. Someone snatch up this little gem and don’t let it close!
Happy Flying and Eating!
