Federico Ristorante Italiano is your destination for authentic Italian cuisine, drinks, and decadent desserts. Decades ago, some of our regulars knew us as Cafe Italia. Cafe Italia opened its doors in 1976, but unfortunately closed its doors in 2018. That’s where we came in – or rather, where we had been all along! After a transfer of ownership, Cafe Italia became Federico Ristorante Italiano.
Community groups, charitable fundraisers, birthday party, office luncheons, corporate anniversaries, engagement and wedding and holiday parties, bus tour group dining, and life celebrations are always welcome at Federico’s. Please call us at (703) 486-0519 to discuss your specific needs with the manager.
Traditional pastas, pizza, Italian entrees & a full bar offered in a casual, rustic atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our meal at Federico Ristorante Italiano. The service was warm and friendly, and our server made us feel very welcome.
The food was delicious and truly tasted like homemade Italian cooking. We loved the complimentary soup or salad and the warm, freshly baked bread with a very Mediterranean-style vinaigrette.
We’ll definitely be back and will bring family and friends next time

My girlfriend and I went here for valentines day dinner and we will be coming back everything we are in the DC area. The service is amazing, from the host to our server Gino. This restaurant make you feel like you’re in Italy. We started off with a 8in fresca fresca pizza that was by far the best I’ve ever had. We then got our salads wich were your usual house salad but with what seems to be a homemade dressing. My girlfriend got the Alfredo and I got the FBI(full blown italian). The Alfredo was great but the FBI was out of this world. The Italian sausage and meatball with the lasagna were the cherry on top. For dessert I got affogato and we shared Tiramisu. The Tiramisu like everything else was by far the best I’ve had. The fact that this place wasn’t more packed than it was is shocking. Definitely come here to eat if it pops up on your radar and ask for Gino.

This is a true authentic hole in the wall mom and pop place. The old wallpaper, table clothes, and vibe all were like walking into my friend’s Italian grandmother’s home. Just felt like I want to stay for a long time. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. The food was delicious even though I feel like I probably didn’t get the full true Italian seasoning. Maybe they dial it back a little for more people to like it. Either way it was still amazing. The portions were huge and I left stuffed. I will be back again.

Excellent food and fantastic service! I was in town for business and this place was an easy walk from the hotel. Inside, the atmosphere felt very cozy and authentic. Our waiter was well dressed and clearly knew the menu, had the specials memorized (as a true waiter should), and was all around helpful and friendly.
I will be in Arlington for business again this month and plan to go back! Highly recommend if you like Italian cuisine!

We were able to walk to the restaurant. Arrived as a party of 13 without reservations. They immediately arranged seating to accommodate us. Gino was our waiter. He was personable and delightful. The best server I have ever had. The food was authentic. I had chicken Marsala which was superb. Most of the group ordered a pasta dish. The marinara and meatballs in the dishes were so good. The tiramisu, cannolis, the chocolate fudge cake received high reviews from those that had them. I could have eaten there everyday I was in DC.

Great Italian restaurant! The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. Salad was great, followed by a delicious Pasta Platter consisting of Manicotti, Cannelloni, and Meat lasagna. Finished it out with cannoli! Highly recommended, would go here again.

I ordered a fettuccine with shrimp but the food has a weird taste that I couldn’t even eat half of it. The shrimp was not cooked properly either so I decided to eat of the pizza that my husband order which it wasn’t good either but it wasn’t as bad as the pasta. The server was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambience is pretty too but the food is just NOT IT. I left sad because I want it to try this restaurant for a while

Such a charming and quaint place. It was like walking into an italian grandmother’s kitchen. Even though it was my first time visiting, the staff made me feel like I was a regular. I had to try the classic chicken parmesan, and it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly and still felt like it was a home-cooked meal. The restaurant has plenty of room for large groups or just come and enjoy a good meal by yourself.
