I found this little hidden gem on TikTok and ventured out to give it a try—I was not disappointed! Sergio, the owner and chef, was very kind and inviting. The food tasted just like my grandma used to make. You need to be patient, as it’s a one-man show and everything is made to order. The drinks are self-serve. The chilaquiles were amazing, and the prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely be back for more, and I highly recommend going to give Sergio your support for his small business!

Hidden gem! The food is down home good, and the staff is super eager to help you enjoy your meal. The Breakfast Fideo Loco was the best I’ve had in SA. Very close to my Grandmother’s. The pancakes are definitely good as well. Not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant as they also serve breakfast sandwiches. The staff are very friendly. We are coming back. Definitely worth a try.

This is a great spin on mexican food. It is definitley a fusion restaurant with a very homemade feel. Sergio is great, he is very welcoming. They did mess up our order pretty bad but fixed it with no complaints. There isn’t many people that work here so it may take a while for someone to get to you to take your order, but once ordered the food comes out pretty quick. I will definitely come back when I am in the area.

Panchos and Gringos is such a good restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and Sergio and his staff are always friendly. While the inside may be a little old and not as fancy, don’t let that steer you away! My husband and I aren’t from San Antonio, we are about 5 hours away, every time we come though we always make Panchos and Gringos a must! I also recommend to anyone I know that will be visiting the city. We were recently there (1/24/26) on a cold day and I ordered the pozole it was 10/10 along with the fideo loco. My husband ordered breakfast tacos and a pancake 10/10. The salsa they give is also so good! I can’t rave enough about this place!

Amazing service by the guys at panchos y gringos! There was no one inside and we thought it was closed. Self serve beverages such as coffee and sodas. We ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and an omelette with spinach. Everything was cooked dress for us, we got tortillas and the omelette comes with bread. All the portions are great and I highly recommend the habanero salsa. Pay at the register! Also enjoy the lovely Mexican music playing. It feels so homely and welcoming.

Could eat here every day. I’ve been coming here very seldom over the last couple years due to the fact I live in Southtown, and its hard to pass all the restaurants in my area. However, i still do take the drive and am completely satisfied every time I come. I really enjoy the customer service, coffee and Porkchop and egg plate, but all is good! Great lil self serve coffee tea and soda bar, excellent portions and cant beat the price!

Delicious breakfast sandwiches: LOADED up with bacon, sausage, cheese, egg, and hash browns. The bread was a good choice to hold up without being too dense – we really enjoyed them. The owner is so friendly and kind, too. The coffee is self-service; no frills, just good strong coffee.
If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s not fancy. There is gentrification in progress, but there are still houses that look rough. No judgement – just people living their lives! It’s street parking for the restaurant; however we had no problem parking right in front on a Sunday morning.
Ultimately this restaurant is serving a need in the community for a welcoming place to get a very good breakfast, and I absolutely recommend it! They’re doing things right, here.
