Been eating here for about 5 years. Never ever had a bad experience, and we go kind of often, maybe once a month or more sometimes. Sushi is always well made and tastey. None of me and my 7 family members have gotten ill or felt weird afterwards, the staff are kind and it’s just a great place. My favorite sushi place, irreplaceable. I don’t trust any other sushi place as much as Ozu :))) <333

Ordered shrimp fried rice my rice was BURNT. Rice had very little peas and carrots. My egg rolls were soggy and cold I will never patronize this business again.

I ordered a full array of take out just to get a wide birth of samples and it all was quite good! Very good egg rolls, and all standard quality of lo mein and sweet and sour chicken and such. It wasn’t amazing, but still quite good! Next up is to try their sushi, when I picked up my order it seemed like that was what most people had ordered.

I’m not from Dayton but really wanted some Singapore noodles but a lot places don’t make them or they’re not flavorful enough. I got the Singapore mei fun and the were great! The container was filled to the top, there was an amount of veggies and meat and have lots of flavor.

The fish was fresh and tasty, but my yellowtail sashimi wasn’t fully cut into two pieces. The slices were heavy handed and not cut with the care I’d expect from a sushi joint. All in all fresh but poorly executed.

Never heard of the place but on our search for good looking food Ozu 852 popped up and the reviews were promising. And so far it has not let us down! The food is fantastic super fresh and alot of effort put into the cooking. It doesn’t look or taste like typical fast food Chinese which this place isn’t but has that small shop feel. The fried rice is fire licked(smokey), the egg rolls packed with flavor and my favorite the general tso’s chicken is on point like none other. Highly recommend! Oh and peanut avocado rolls are to die for. Great find will be returning often

The quality used to be so much better when Allen and Ann focused their time at Ozu. The rolls are considerably smaller, and the flavor is gone. In an effort to save money they pack the rolls into one container so tight, you can’t get a piece out without destroying it. It’s a shame, my family used to enjoy their restaurant. I don’t think we will be returning.

Update , 8/26/23 my buddy from out of town offered to get us dinner, so i told them about this place. Usually, the food is good , but this time, it totally sucked . The egg rolls were flimsy and old , and the orange chicken was tough . We spent about 100$ and was disappointed. I would have to say hit or miss chinese . One for one. one time good , one-time bad.

Ozu852 is our families favorite restaurant! Everything always has great flavor and the portions are plentiful. The staff is so kind and helpful, answering any questions about what something is or what is in a dish. For a small restaurant the atmosphere is very pleasing. We love watching them make sushi when waiting on our take out. I’d give them more stars if I could. #1 hidden treasure!!

was so pleasantly surprised to discover it…the sushi and sashimi is better than i could have hoped! some of the best raw fish i’ve had, very thoughtful presentation too.
the owners/workers are fantastic at their job and very kind. great lunch specials too.
