Three Amigos in Waterloo is seriously starting to step up its game, and if you haven’t been recently, you’re missing out on what might be the best new dish in town. They finally added Queso de Birria to the menu, and believe me, it is absolutely life-changing.
I’ve tried other versions of Birria tacos in the area, but hands down, Three Amigos delivers a flavor experience I haven’t had since trying the real thing down in Mexico City. The richness of the slow-cooked meat, the perfect amount of quality cheese, and the deeply flavorful consommé set it apart immediately.
In a town where Mexican restaurants are popping up all over the place—like La Cava, for instance—I’ve noticed quality dipping, especially with minimal cheese and lackluster recipes. Three Amigos, however, has always been a solid and consistent choice, and they continue to offer very good prices for the portion size and quality.
If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality, and satisfying Mexican food, don’t walk, run to Three Amigos. Just sharing my thoughts after trying one of their new dishes today—I highly recommend you try the Queso de Birria. You will definitely enjoy it!

11.99 gets you lettuce, 1 ounce of beef, 1 ounce of cheese, a few pieces of tomatoes. Very disappointed! Asked for sour cream the server told me $4 extra dollars. I asked for guacamole the server told me another $4.? They could have done a better job dressing it up!!! At the end, you’re paying $20 for a ground beef taco salad. Not worth it at all!!!

Went back again this past week and still the most Amazing Mexican and service in the area, this time we tried the Seafood Burrito, Chorizo Burrito, Fish Tacos, Chicken Taquitos & Chicken Quesadillas. All were Amazing great work!!
Amazing Authentic Mexican had the Mole Enchiladas, Mexicana Quesadillas, Amoigos Especial & Seafood Chimichanga and were all fantastic highly recommend stopping here for great Mexican and very friendly and fast service

My daughter had the shrimp nachos and it was very good,my wife had the beef nachos and liked them very much.
I had the Burrito Colorado and the large chunks of pork were delicious.

A traditional Mexican restaurant. No bar available and the margaritas tasted a little weak to my girlfriend and I – perhaps premade. Fajita meal is a good value. We were pleased with the queso blanco as well. I would be open to returning.

Very nice decor and super friendly staff. The place was as clean as could be. I took two stars off for the unappetizing Chile’s rellenos. There was no breading, just pepper in a egg wrap. My friend had a nacho plate which looked good. Prices were very reasonable. I will return and review another dish.

I got the Three amigos steak and bacon wrapped shrimp plate it was delicious and cooked perfect! My wife has the pork chili Verde she enjoyed it also, my Cousin got the trio fajita chicken, shrimp and steak she said it was enough to take home and have for lunch and dinner the next day
