The owner is very nice and personable. He cares for the community and people.
He is doing it by himself on a Sunday and my order was ready to go faster than the whole crew two doors down. I had brown Stew Chicken and he gave me a sampler bowl so I could taste the curry goat, oxtail and curry chicken. The food was delicious authentic Jamaican cuisine, spicy but not overwhelming at all. He definitely does NOT use MSG, because I didn’t cough not one time. The portions were good for the price. I did add a little natural salt to my food but the flavors were on point.

It’s a counter service take out restaurant. I ordered jerk chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. This was the best jerk chicken I have had in Jacksonville. Since it was my first time in the owner gave me a sample of his stew chicken. It was great too. I look forward to going back to try more of the menu.

I live really close to this restaurant, and I am familiar with the bad limited food options in this area. I saw this restaurant was opening and was excited a new cuisine option was coming that wasn’t a main stream food restaurant. I finally stopped in to give this place a try. It’s small, but does have some seating. However the interior decorating and ambiance of the restaurant, is definitely on point for the food that is being sold here. I love how the menu is small but does have quite a bit of options to choose from, I decided to get the small platter of shrimp curry with yellow rice and plantains. I also love how everything is cooked to order so you know your food is fresh and hot which it exactly was.
I could smell the flavors and love being prepared in that kitchen and was excited to get my meal. The prices are reasonable and the staff there is nice and friendly. I got my plate and opened it with knowing this food was going to be delicious and that it was. The flavors are immaculate and definitely give traditional Jamaican style eatery, portions are good as I couldn’t even finish my plate and will be having leftovers.
Definitely give this restaurant a shot if you’re in the area, looking for good food! I will be returning and recommending to friends and family. I hope this business is prosperous and remains open on the Northside, we need it.

First time and it was delicious .. I had the jerk chicken.. perfectly cooked, spicy (!!) -> love it. ! The patties looked and smelled delicious… small local owned..all fresh … takes a min to get the food but hey.. fresh is fresh..the owner is very particular how to order and where to wait —- too funny !! Me and my coworker stopped by this place to past out flyers for the job we worked for, instead of kicking us out the man over the counter who we are assuming is the owner offered us food to try! The food was so delicious and flavorful we were taken back by the kindness and generosity of the man! The taste of the food was great! But we paid for a large oxtail and there was maybe 5 whole oxtails in the tray. The rest were cooked apart. Look at the picture. We paid $36 for a large oxtail dinner, 1 coco bread, and 2 beef patties. Slim on the vegetables also. They need to lower the prices or up the food amount.

I went in looking to get a beef pattie. While looking over the menu i also decided i wanted to try the jerk wings. However, he was out of the jerk wings so i just got the pattie. This guy energy was amazing he offered me a jerk chicken instead and also, a sample bowl because i stated it was my first time. He said i got you im going to feed the both of you. Hinting at my pregnancy bump which i thought i concealed it pretty well, but i digress. He was so cool and provided excellent customer service. Long story short the food was amazing that he provided me with as a taste. I ate it all. My family and i will be back to try more items from his menu. Thank you for an short wonderful experience.

I had the oxtails, rice & peas w/ cabbage. And ALL OF IT WAS BLAND. The oxtails were tough and the gravy was thin like water. Everything was in one container with so the juice from the cabbage the rice wet. Overall it was money wasted.
