I had an argument with Siri because she kept telling me to go here instead of San Carlos. Well, she was right cause’ not only did San Carlos close forever, but also San Jose. Locals say it was a mix of reasons that broke them. I think they made it too sterile and diluted the menu too much. I digress…
Overall I’ve had good experiences with this location. The food has been fairly consistent and I never leave hungry. I typically order the Philly Cheese with some extras like hot peppers and bacon. I think my only critiques here are that the cheese isn’t always melted well, and I don’t feel like the portions are quite as generous as my very first sandwich with San Carlos. It’s not offensive or worth dropping a star (yet). The flavor is great and the spicy peppers give it a solid kick.
The fries have not disappointed either – nicely balanced on texture but sometimes need a little bit of extra seasoning (which is readily available).
Expect a 10-15 minute wait, your food is made to order and comes out hot.
As a bonus tip for microwaving leftovers: I’ve found that if the bread is spongey, throwing the whole thing in the air frier for a very short time will fix it up.
Btw if the owner is reading this – don’t repeat the mistakes of San Carlos and San Jose. Don’t skimp on portions, don’t dilute your menu with too many choices, and especially don’t waste money on a pointless remodel that kills the vibe.

This is the last true ‘Philly cheese steak’ place left around here. Lots of meat and white American. No weird cheese whiz. These taste just like they were made on the opposite coast. We love it and will drive over an hour to get them. The tator tots are pretty amazing too.

Incredible value for the money. I ordered the 6 inch tuna salad sandwich and a half order of their seasoned curly fries. The amount of food could have fed three! Food was very tasty and seasoned perfectly! Will visit again!

Most consistent restaurant ever. I prefer to drive over the hill and go to Jersey Joe’s Coastside, they are the guys who never changed and always kept low prices and the same variety the menu was always known for. Unless you live in San Carlos, there is absolutely no reason to not drive the extra 10 minutes to the original location. San Carlos location used to be a staple of the community, now it looks like a fast food joint and the menu is all screwed up, they got rid of the best employees who contributed to the good vibes you can’t get from big corpo. I stay loyal to the location that’s stays loyal to its customers. Jersey Joe’s Coastside makes the best cheesesteak sandwich I have ever had. They make it better than the San Carlos location. San Carlos has new fries that are good but other than that, all of the other items at the San Carlos location went down in size and quality. Half Moon Bay location is how San Carlos location used to be. Thank you Jersey Joe’s Coastside for staying true to your roots!

This place was great!! Really good cheesesteak and burger and would come again for sure. The tater tots were very salty though, and the ranch was just a 5.5/10 on my standards. This seems like a perfect place to take your child after a sporting game, or to watch a sports game in half moon bay. The one thing I couldn’t handle was the paper napkins, they sucked and it made me angry. I used 7+, just to eat a cheesesteak. But again, I would come back! Great for when you’re in the mood for a lil burger or cheesesteak.

Good cheesesteaks. Yup, that’s all I really have to say. We’ve been missing Jersey Joe’s ever since the one close to us closed down, so this was pretty nostalgic. You definitely get what you pay for. One of my family members complained that their sandwich wasn’t salty enough and had to add some salt, but mine tasted fine. Very filling lunch after a poor breakfast. Overall, 4/5.

Not too many good cheese stake places around. This is the last Jersey Joe’s location. There’s a few differences from the San Carlos location (before it changed owners and closed down), but it’s still good. Unlike the other location, They have a lot more options than cheese stakes.

Fun atmosphere. Good quality burgers. It says the hamburger is grass fed grain finished. The fries were 7 out of 10, the California burger I’d give an 8.2 out of 10. Overall a great burger. I would love to try the cheesesteaks another day. Would recommend you try it out.
