At our Elizabethton, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Ordered through the drive thru and let me tell you the young lady is who took my order was very friendly and had a wonderful attitude. I believe her name is bree. I told her she should go to other local fast food restaurants and teach them how to treat their customers. She made sure to offer a drink with my meal and made sure my meal was good, hot, and delicious. Service has definitely gotten better and I hope they keep her in the drive thru because she is one of the best ones I’ve seen there in a long time. There’s another gentleman that works up there with her and he is a good worker with a great attitude also.

The staff here is very pleasant and the restaurant is very clean. The cashiers came and checked on us several times. I think there are new folks here and they are trying to do a really good job!

We decided to go off our route to stop by Captin Ds, it was 30 min before they close. Even tho they still had 30 min before closing the crew on this shift decided to serve my family chicken that was small as my pinky finger, fish that had been under the warmer after there rush.. and Mac and cheese that looked like it had been mashed! This is all after I had ordered a 10 piece family fish meal(40.00) that I only got 9 of, we got this because we needed 10 to feed us all. Luckily I looked before driving back to Rogersville, waited 4 more min for one piece of fresh fish when they could have just dropped me 10 fresh to begin with….. I was so mad when I made our plates to see this nasty food! I absolutely love captain ds but this experience has been horrible, expensive, and aggravation.

Update: February 4th. 2024.
This evening all four of the meals we ordered were over cooked, extreamely burn. The store was not busy so we shouldn’t have had the wait time we did. I guess it makes sense they used the extra time to burn the food.
We are so disappointed in Captain Ds the last couple of times we’ve gotten food here its been eh but nothing like what we experienced tonight.
We won’t be back.

We were welcome by Rebecca, as we came in the door, she was very pleasant and taking our order offered suggestions brought us. Our food to our table was very courteous and friendly so much that I approached her manager to tell her what a wonderful job she’s doing it’s good to see things have changed. The changes are good.
