I don’t know how I found this place, but I’m so glad I did. We had the deviled eggs to start, and I had the butter chicken with cauliflower rice, and my wife had the scallops. Everything was executed to the highest level, and their drink selection was great. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Edit: After such a great meal, we went back the next day for brunch and had the seafood hash and chicken & waffles. Like the previous night, they were great, and I’m sure we’ll be back next time we’re in Wichita.

Very happening place in Wichita, Douglas neighborhood. I like that you can reserve a table at open table so you are not waiting. Good customer service. Hummus was okay, not tasty like I am used too. I felt it was plain but I like the carrot and cucumber combination with pita bread. Wild salmon was delicious with a tasty rice and mixed vegetables combo. Beef steak with mushroom sauce was okay. Good restaurant for date night.

I want to share my recent experience to make others aware when planning a large party or special event at Wine Dive.

Last week, I made a reservation for regular dining for 18 people to celebrate my birthday. The reservation was confirmed, and my card was placed on file. During that call, I briefly inquired about private dining options since it was a larger group and a special occasion. I also sent a message to the manager simply to get more information. I did not move forward with private dining and continued planning under the assumption that my confirmed regular dining reservation was secure.

Today, my boyfriend contacted the restaurant to coordinate a small surprise with balloons and decorations. During that call, he was informed that my reservation had been canceled by the manager because I had not followed up regarding the private dining option.

I immediately called the restaurant, assuming there had been a misunderstanding. However, the manager, Ashley, confirmed that she canceled the reservation because I did not respond about private dining. I explained that I had only inquired about the private room and that my confirmed regular dining reservation should not have been canceled without notice. I never requested to hold both spaces, I was simply gathering information.

Unfortunately, the conversation was met with defensiveness rather than resolution. I was told I should have followed up, and the manager stated she had “better things to do” than speak with me. When I asked to escalate the matter, I was informed her supervisor was not available and that they would support her decision, followed by a sarcastic remark wishing me “good luck” finding another location.

As a customer, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and professionalism, especially for a birthday celebration that had been planned in advance. Canceling a confirmed reservation without notice placed me in a difficult position to secure accommodations for a large group at the last minute.

I am sharing this experience so others are aware and can plan accordingly when booking events or larger parties.

The atmosphere is quiet at lunch slightly dark inside. They do offer a birthday surprise after your meal. We enjoyed the lobster macaroni

Maybe other dishes are good, but would not recommend the Mahi. I recognize that this is not a seafood town, but this is not about the cook of the fish. The pairing with their particular style of risotto was not in the least bit pleasing. Extremely onion and black pepper heavy. Not at all a compliment to fish. Wound up scooping all of the risotto to the edges of the plate and only eating the fish after putting lemon on it. The server also was not very attentive. It was busier I get it but when I made a comment about the risotto he completely ignored it. Again maybe other things are great but would HIGHLY avoid the mahi as long as they have that particular risotto pairing.

We started off with the party of 4 but after ordering the appetizer, our friends daughter and friends (3 in total) came to the same restaurant. We requested the staff to give us a table next to ours but they took the decision to combine two new tables for us. They went beyond what we requested and it surely made our experience more pleasant. Brook took care of us and he was friendly, attentive and made us feel welcomed. The food was delicious and the sangria was good. Some of the reviews here had mentioned the service was slow, and we were a little apprehensive but we surely were impressed by the speed and the attention we got from the servers. They were quick to fill our water glasses when they were half full and quick to clear out the table when we were done. Surely worth giving it a try. I will surely visit when in town again. Thanks Brook for your friendly service and hospitality.

I am a local foodie and have been for quite a few years I did a review here a year ago and gave them a good review. I had learned that they had remodeled so I thought I would go back in and check it out… Michaela the manager was more than happy to help me out the food and the service was the best I’ve had . And let me tell you that meatloaf was to die for probably the best meatloaf I’ve ever had in my life and I thought that The Sweet Spot had the best meatloaf well let me tell you something else I found some place that’s out doing The Sweet Spot and that is Wine Dive by far the best meatloaf I’ve ever had in the country and I am a meatloaf extraordinaire as well as a chicken fried steak connoisseur…. The atmosphere was completely awesome my waitress was on me like a junkyard dog never let up made sure I had plenty of water and plenty of drinks and the house sangria was totally awesome… All I can say is they keep doing better and better every time I go in… Kudos to Michaela and the staff….Thank you. ***** Star

Worthwhile!! The name “Wine Dive + Kitchen” seems apropos. Impressive selection of wine. Had a nice glass of mid-coastal California Merlot, bruschetta for an appetizer, and the vegetarian fajitas for entree. Without going into detail, both menu items were tasty. The serving sizes were HUGE (see pics). Service was very good. Ambience is a little hard to pin down… maybe upscale/neighborhood? Check photos and develop your own opinion. I picked up a local, College Hill neighborhood kind of vibe. Appears a good many of the patrons are regulars (a good sign). Recommended.

Overall, very tasty brunch. French cider was killer and much more complicated in flavor than anything I’ve tried in US, very pleasant surprise: 5/5. Salmon deviled eggs: 4.5/5. Egg sandwich was good but was very diner style and could be made better with thicker slices of bacon, better bread, and maybe a spicier mayonnaise? (3/5). Duck hash also good but the duck itself comes on the bone and is kind of a pain. Very difficult to get off the bone with fork and knife, and inconvenient to eat directly off the bone; could also have more flavorful potatoes: 3/5. Service and location fairly standard: 3/5. Will try again and consider an upgrade
