The restaurant has been closed but the market and kebab counter is still in operation. The market has a large selection of Persian and Turkish products. You can find unique tea that isn’t available in other markets. The kebab counter is pretty good. Definitely go check out the market.

This place use to be like a restaurant but now it is a little window where you order from inside the market. They have a very nice selection of products from Iran and Turkey in the market. The food is pretty tasty but expensive prices for the small portions. I got a Sosis sandwich for $16 that I finished in 5 bites. Not great value but it tasted well. Overall not bad but would expect larger portion or lower price for what they give.

Every time we come to the Rockville / Bethesda area, we almost always stop by Yekta Kabobi restaurant for lunch or dinner. This Persian restaurant is one of our most favorite restaurants anywhere. It feels comfortable and elegant, the service is excellent, and their food is delicious and reasonable.

We usually visit here for lunch, and for that, we typically order the following dishes:

Starter: Kashke Bademjan (Fried Eggplant with Fermented Whey, Onions and Mint)
Sandwich: Zaban (Seasoned Beef Tongue)
Lunch Special: Chenjeh (Marinated Certified Angus Beef® Strip Loin Shish Kabob)
Dessert: Bastanee (Saffron Ice Cream with Rosewater and Pistachios)

We have never tasted something like Kashke Bademjan (Eggplant Spread) anywhere else, and it’s addictive. Bastanee (Saffron Ice Cream) is simply amazing.

All other dishes we have tried are excellent, especially Lamb Kabobs.

A bonus: There is a Persian grocery store next to the restaurant. It is so fun to explore this store.

The food here is good and the decor is really authentic. Service was great and we enjoyed the overall experience. The meats are the strong side of Yekta with flavorful and fresh options to go around. We will be back

WARNING: this is not a sit down restaurant! It is take-out ONLY!! The google maps page is super misleading and it still looks like there is a sit down restaurant here. After driving 40 mins with family I was extremely annoyed to learn it was basically a glorified food truck.

There needs to be a clear “takeout only” on google maps and the old pictures of dining need to be removed. Kabob “counter” means nothing. What is a counter? Google labels it as a “restaurant” and there are 50 pictures of Persian food in nice plates — extremely misleading.

Persian food is terrible as takeout. Probably the worst cuisine to eat as takeout. Gets cold fast and smells terrible. There is no excuse to not bring back sit down service after Covid. This is an embarrassment to Persian culture.

The grocery store is fine, but it is separate than this “counter”. Do yourself a favor, go to Tyson’s corner or DC for way better Persian food.

Ate lunch here with coworkers.t’s more expensive than your average kabob place but the quality of the food and the services is great. There is also a market attached. Spent about 30 usd.

Had lunch here on a Saturday. No lunch menu was disappointing as the lunch specials are great. I had the Ghormeh Sabzi, which is an herb stew. It was OK. Not much meat, probably would not order again. The rice accompaniment was delicious as was the shirazi salad. My wife had the chejeh kabob platter which was great. Tons of large pieces of perfectly cooked Angus beef.
Nice place, good service, and the grocery next store is definitely worth a stop after you eat.

Persian Kabobi restaurant. Very good ambience. It is beyond an eatery unlike other middle eastern or indian restaurants. I cannot say it is 100% authentic but very tasty. Chicken and Salmon kabobs are great! Barg is not the same as you find in an Iranian restaurants but it tastes very good. For two, the bill is about $50-$60. You don’t regret, go for it!
