This is a quintessential hole-in-the-wall which typically have some of the best food, but I found this place to be just okay. I had the Chile Verde and eggs breakfast. It was a little too salty, in my opinion, but still edible. Our server provided great service. I didn’t care for the environment at all; it needs a serious facelift both inside and out. The bathroom what’s half-functional and full of graffiti. I realize this isn’t a great area of town, but take pride in your restaurant. I don’t plan on coming back, but if a friend wanted to go, I would still go.

I dont know what all the hype is about! When we got to the restaurant and there were a lot of people so I thought we were at a great place. I ordered the Chile colorado breakfast plate. It was decent, not great. My whole family was disappointed, especially my older brother, who ordered the Cocido, and the plates were small with hardly any meat. The salsa they give you is just tomatoes with cilantro, not even a salsa.

The food was so different tonight. the salsa did not look fresh, it had mostly onions and actually looked like it was store bought or something. I ended up using the spicy salsa on my chips. the tacos had hardly any meat, a whole lot of lettuce which is their usual, that’s why I enjoy eating there their tacos are not skimpy on the filling. tonight I didn’t know where the meat was.

Took my wife to go eat at the BEST OF THE BEST HERE AT CARRILLOS on her birthday. Where the food and host treat you like family. They came out with a piece of cake and even sang happy birthday to her what hospitality. Thank all of you see you all next week

We ordered a chicken quesadilla that turned out to be pork. The pork was drenched and made the tortilla soggy. Beans and rice were salty and the flautas tasted packaged. Oh, and don’t get me started on the lady who greets you outside, she’ll ask you to buy her food and gets aggressive if you don’t want to. I’m not sure why this is 4.3 stars, horrible experience. Staff was nice tho

We been here a few times to have breakfast and the first time we came, i said to myself that we will definitely come back. I haven’t tried everything on their menu, but i can honestly say they have good steak and eggs! They actually serve you a seasoned ribeye cut steak. Definitely beats Black Bears steak and eggs special. Tacos is ok. I tried their asada burrito tonight for dinner and it was eh. Their fountain soda coca cola is on point! Service was good

They couldn’t get order right. 3 of 4 times. Regardless, beans taste like they have soap in em. Guacamole was so acidic I couldn’t eat it. Chi Jen taco salad was the worst ever. Tortillas were not crunchy. They should close the Hughes location or let valentines take it back over. The homeless bring the outside down. I won’t let my wife come here anymore u safe atmosphere. Terrible place. Just plain bad. Im done with this place.
