I went to try the Golden Beet salad in their brunch menu. It was outstanding and the staff was very attentive. I tried the Egg Sardou as well, it was good. They also gave a biscotti with the coffee, it is the first time any coffee shop has done that, the place is embedded within French culture indeed. They also have live jazz, it was pleasant.

Excellent lunch service with live music

Bread service, cobb salad w/ grilled chicken and one with steak. Both proteins were cooked perfectly.

Produce was fresh and presented beautifully. Bread service included Parmesan shaved over olive oil.

The staff is impeccable with quick attention to detail.

You cannot get the famous butter cake or root beer floats here. Those are serve in the Carousel bar.

Nice food. We expected to eat the beef wellington but it was sold out. We had reservation at 19:30 and already the wellington was sold out. But in general we had a good time. We also expected a better dessert.

Great dining experience every time we’ve been here. We’ve tried the breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items and been pleased with them all. The brunch portions are the largest by far so it’s great for sharing! We love the fried green tomatoes, they’re always perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. If you like pasta the lunch options are all delicious and start out vegetarian and then you select the added protein of your choice from their list of add ons, it’s a great option that feels like it satisfies everyone. Breakfast and brunch have fewer vegetarian/vegan options but are still tasty so long as you’re not looking for a high protein vegetarian breakfast. If you’re staying in the hotel this is a great place to grab a bit and the wait for a table it typically short. Staff is all exceptionally helpful and polite.

Ms Kathy is the best. She is on top of it at all times. She had what we needed before we needed it. Food was on point and the atmosphere was great as well. Didn’t want to leave. You must go and eat here soon! Management, Robby, Hector and the rest of the team does an awesome job as well.

Great creole breakfast / brunch spot.
Located inside the historic Hotel Monteleone.
Ordered Eggs Benedict and Fried green tomatoes. Both are perfectly cooked. The staff is hospitable and helpful. The restaurant and the hotel are beautiful. Would return for their weekend jazz brunch for live music.

As we walked in we did feel judged by the hostess, she look at us like we didn’t belong.. and then felt like we were being watched my the management/supervisor like we were going to dine and dash.. I comment a wee bit loud about it and then he walked away.. however, that all left our mind when Jessica served us.. she was spectacular.. there are not enough words to say how she made us welcome.. the food was good, but pricey.. hash browns MEH! way too much spice.. coffe was strong but delicious .. beignet to die for… would we go back, maybe but the prices were higher then the value of the book in my opinion..

Staying on site at the Monteleone, we arrived Saturday at 9:45 wanting to catch breakfast and we put on 15 min wait list. No text notifications so at 23 min, I went to check, they took us right in. Super friendly service! 10:19 and they’d switched to brunch. Got the scampi app, good, heavy garlic. Lobster Benedict 3.5/5 (wife.) A little tough, very low temp, and an abundance of potatoes. Good flavor (nice touch with salmon roe.) Steak and eggs cooked perfect, just tepid on temp. Forgot my coffee but it eventually came. Nice rich chicory and also almost cool. Loved the subtle live music and view (sat at window.) For the price, expected better. Still good, just not great this time. Worthy of trying again.

The Le Petit Chef website states no substitutions even for food allergies but urges you to call with questions and concerns. I did and asked how they handled food allergies other than calling 911. Michael explained that they could not create a new dish but could accommodate shellfish allergies by serving a fish dish instead of lobster and a second salad in place of the bouillabaisse. Two days before the dinner, I called to confirm and was told by an apologetic hostess that the chef refused to substitute and I needed to check their “no substitution” policy and even if someone else had told me substitutions were ok, the chef said “NO.” This is the same chef who is noted on the main menu as choosing the vegetables for your meal and reserves the right to cook your steak to HIS preferred temperature. Well, hubris and arrogance mean that your cooking really better be perfect. It wasn’t (the dishes were either too bland or too salty, except for the dessert which was probably brought in from Whole Foods). Some of us decided to make the attempt for the entertainment factor. When we arrived, the waitress immediately asked if we had any food allergies and proceeded to offer the same substitutions that Michael had originally offered. Seriously?! You tell us off for something you changed anyway? At $135+ per person, the restaurant certainly lost money chasing away those in our party with food allergies. I have no problem with a no substitution policy but get your policies straight with your staff as it isn’t the guest’s fault that your front and back of the house lack communication. The only good part was the Le Petit Chef presentation. It really could have amused kids more but we found it fun and entertaining.
