Friendly wait staff and really good food. We showed up too late in the day for the full pie selection, but enjoyed a slice of cherry. Smothered pulled pork burrito was also amazing. Huge portions! Would stop again to try the biscuits and gravy which also looked amazing.

Just went in to get some coffee for the drive back home from quemado lake. Pretty good lattes, the girl at the register was really sweet she had no idea what apple pay was & if they had it which they did! The atmosphere inside is nice but I’d definitely update it to modernize it a tad bit since it does look older but maybe thays the look they are going for?

The people were very friendly. My husband had the smothered burrito, and I believe he’ll be talking about it for the rest of our lives. He announced he’d considering moving to Pie Town for it. He said there could be no pie in Pie Town and he’d go back for that burrito anyway.

My meal was okay. I had the pulled pork plate. The pork really wasn’t warm enough, but it was very tender, slightly sweet, and juicy. The mild BBQ sauce has a bit of heat but my spice tolerance isn’t great, sadly. This was at about my limit. But it was served on the side, so it was fine.

The coleslaw was very fresh; it’s clear they make it in house, right down to chopping fresh cabbage for it. It was very simple, but still tasty. The macaroni salad was okay, though my husband really liked it, and I readily admit I’m particular with macaroni salad in general.

So, about the pie, which, let’s face it, is really what brings people to a place called Pie Town. He had the “world’s best Key lime,” which is possibly his favorite kind of pie. He said it was good, but certainly not the best he’s had, and based on the bite that I had, I would agree. However, to be fair, the pie was fresh out of the freezer, and I do suspect it would have been better not frozen (we knew it was frozen – they were perfectly up front about it).

I had the German chocolate, and it pains me to write this because again, the people were all super nice, but it was terrible. The chocolate filling was too thick, maybe? It had a consistency that was too much like Jello, where I wanted something creamier. But even the flavor just wasn’t there. The coconut topping was much better, but still not anything special. But the major flaw was one that is simply not acceptable where pie is concerned, and that the crust. I’ve had far better crust from supermarket pies.

It was too blonde (and honestly, looking at all of the pies in the display, I was worried about that, but looks can be deceiving with pie), which made it chewy (I found it hard to even get my fork through it), but it was also just flavorless. I didn’t finish it.

Bottom line, the service was good, the people were lovely, the atmosphere is interesting, though not as clean as I might like (though the restroom was lovely and very clean), and apparently the burrito is kickass. If you find yourself in need of lunch in Pie Town, you’ll get at least an adequate one here. But Pie-O-Neer is where you want to get your pie. Oh, but get your lemonade from here. Pie-O-Neer’s lemonade is weak, and the lemonade here was really good.

Does and Bucks has new management and boy have they made the place nice, the food is great, it has a nice atmosphere, and excellent coffee selection. The smoked vegetable’s flavor pleased the the tired of steamed veggie palate! Love the pies too!

Stopped by for a late lunch on Thursday during our “cousins” road trip.

Absolutely loved this place. Food was wonderful. I had brisket with smoked veggies. So tasty and very large portions. Finished with a piece of key lime pie which was also outstanding.

Highly recommend stopping here. Owners and staff are so helpful and as mentioned, food is terrific.

One of the BEST beef brisket sandwiches I have ever had!!! It was tender, moist, just the right amount of smoke-bark and a huge pile of beef between two buns. Seriously this was the best brisket I have ever eaten from any barbecue place including Kansas City. You must try it for yourself. The only problem is I liked it so much I don’t know if I want to try anything else. LOL
Whenever I travel through Pie Town this will be my go-to place from now on.

I had a delicious Breakfast Burrito. It was big enough to take half to go for lunch. That left room for a slice of NM Apple Pie. It is made by adding pinon nuts and green chili. An awesome taste, my slice was heated up with a scoop of ice cream. Excellent service. Good prices.

The whole staff was absolutely excellent! A great first impression for my first trip to Pie Town. The only thing better than the staff was the food! Nothing like a brisket sandwich and a key lime pie to top off a road trip! Will definitely be back! -Mr YouNeeVerse
