My family visiting and I came to this establishment last summer and the food was great. My brother and I are world travelers and he’s a steak guy and I’m a fish person. As someone who would usually want a seafood dish, I decided to go with steak and I would say it was delicious. So much that I’ve been back twice since my initial visit and my brother said it’s one of the best steaks he’s ever had. The Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese were good as well… but that wedge salad was the star of the sides – yes I know I’m speaking of a simple wedge salad – but it is the best salad I’ve ever had… it’s unique and not so simple as someone who is considered, Baby Chef Ramsey, I cannot for the life of me recreate that salad at home.

To celebrate my son’s 21st birthday, we dined at Oak Steakhouse and received exceptional service, thanks to Leo. From the moment we arrived, Leo made our experience enjoyable and memorable. He was attentive, proactive, and took great care to ensure my meal was free from any allergens — something I truly appreciated.

We had made reservations right when the restaurant opened, so there was no wait time. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. The meal was premium: I ordered the Hanger Steak with Crispy-Fried Brussels Sprouts, and Garlic Roasted Hummus, while my son enjoyed the Boneless Ribeye with Potato Purée — all dishes were absolutely delicious.

Oak Steakhouse went above and beyond to make my son feel special. They offered a personalized “Birthday Menu,” presented him with a hand-written birthday card, and even treated him to a complimentary dessert.

I highly recommend Oak Steakhouse to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and top-notch dining experience. We will definitely be back — and will be asking for Leo again.

Thank you, Leo and the entire Oak Steakhouse team!

Celebrated Christmas dinner here with my family (grown sons and husband). Everything was above and beyond exceptional from the beautiful restaurant, the atmosphere, the service and the food. We were warmly welcomed by (I’m guessing) the owner or manager who explained the history of the restaurant which began in Charleston, SC. We started sharing some appetizers. The beef tartare, hummus platter and warm rolls were all delicious. Our dinners included the boneless ribeye, seabass special, the Wagyu burger and seared scallops with fennel gnocchi, avocado mousse and sherry rum sauce. Everything was perfectly prepared. The Pumpkin-Date Sticky Cake was over-the-top perfection. This place is an upscale restaurant so expect to find prices to be on the steep side. However, for a lovely and special-occasion experience, it is definitely worth it and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to all my friends. This restaurant is only open for dinner. Get your reservation in!!

Dropped in for a steak while in town for the night, and wasn’t disappointed. I sat in a comfy spot at the corner of the bar and was attended to by Mike, who was simply an ace, on the ball from start to finish. The vintage decor and moody lighting set the perfect tone for a sophisticatedly gritty dinner. Loved the caesar salad and the brussel sprouts, and they’re more than generous with their steaks. Sparkling water on tap was exceptional as well. Next time I’m in town, I’ll be back.

I dined with a large group, and we had a room to ourselves with a fixed menu. The food was delicious! My favorites were the pimento grilled cheese apps, the crispy Brussels sprouts (my absolute favorite), and the Oak sundae. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful overall experience.

Oak Steakhouse – Alexandria

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Oak Steakhouse in Old Town Alexandria, and it could not have been a better experience. From start to finish, the service was outstanding and the food was an absolute 10 out of 10.

Our server, Mike, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. To top it all off, we were lucky enough to meet Todd Hunt, the area director for Virginia and D.C., who personally checked on our table and made sure everything was perfect. You don’t see that kind of hands-on hospitality every day, and it really made the evening special.

The restaurant is owned by Indigo Hospitality Group, and I honestly can’t say enough great things about the entire experience. Incredible food, exceptional service, and a beautiful atmosphere. If you’re in the area and looking for a top-notch steakhouse, Oak needs to be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back!

This was one of the worst dinners I have ever had, and I am 74 years old.

I ordered a 16-ounce ribeye. What arrived could not have been more than 12 ounces. It was overcooked, full of gristle, and completely lacking in flavor. For a steakhouse, this was unacceptable.

The side dishes were served family style, which made no sense for a restaurant at this price point. They were sloppy to serve, poorly presented, and frankly awful. None of them had any flavor. Family-style sides belong in casual restaurants, not in an expensive steakhouse.

We paid eight dollars for four rolls. They were bland and doughy, and not worth the price. The shrimp cocktail appetizer had no flavor at all and tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and left sitting out. The oysters Rockefeller were drowned in a heavy cream sauce to the point where you could not taste the oyster at all.

Another issue was the staff’s canned sales approach. The dining manager told us that nearly everything we were considering was his “favorite” and that we would “love it.” When our server came over, he said the exact same thing. Even the hostess repeated similar comments. It felt scripted and clearly aimed at pushing the most expensive items on the menu rather than offering honest recommendations.

The restroom experience was also unpleasant. There was a strange odor coming from a mix of urine and heavily scented candles, including pineapple and evergreen scents, which only made the smell worse instead of masking it.

To make matters worse, we were seated in a small booth right next to the kitchen. Before we were finished eating, staff began spraying cleaning chemicals and bleach nearby. The smell was overpowering and nearly made us gag, which only added to an already terrible meal.

The total bill for two people was $223 including tip. We had no alcoholic beverages. The cost was ridiculous for the quality of food and the overall experience.

This meal was expensive, poorly executed, and absolutely not worth it in any way. I would never return and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Update: Came back again for desserts and cocktails and very enjoyed the sundae and passionfruit cocktail. Paul is a fantastic professional bartender. Cant wait to be back for dinner someday, oh and oysters are fresh and plump.

Popped in for a quick cocktail and dessert and really enjoyed the fine dining ambiance as well as bar service from Keith. We have a lovely time and cannot wait to be back for dinner!
