Food is great here and the waiter who took our orders were very helpful and accommodating – as I’ve asked for an all shrimp tempura vs mixed tempura (shrimp and vegetables) which isn’t on the menu.
There’s room for improvement in 2 areas. 1/ Cleanliness as there’s a stuffy and cockroach odor when we step into the premise. 2/ The waitress (a Chinese lady) who brought food to our tables served in a hurry, spilled our soup onto our trays and almost onto our clothes and yet she did not apologize.
I hope the owners of the restaurant can look into this feedback and improve your customers are served and improve overall cleanliness.

A great spot to get lunch. Their lunch specials are amazing, their service is quick and great for a short work lunch.
I love getting their Bento Lunch, it’s great value for the amount of choices you have.
Their sushi is also delicious. The sashimi is fresh and beautifully presented.

The city of Petaluma California is a great place to visit. The downtown area is sprinkled with outstanding restaurants and shops. To add to the downtown setting is the Petaluma river with shops and restaurants.
I hadn’t visited downtown in awhile so we tried Kabuki sushi on Petaluma Blvd in the old Mcnear building in the old town section of Petaluma.
We had an early dinner and ordered pretty simple.
First was just a simple California roll. Pretty standard and does not differ in it’s making. Second was a plate of vegetable tempura. Broccoli, zucchinis, mushrooms, slices of sweet potato. These dishes were great, the tempura cooked just right and a large portion. The California roll consisted of 8 pieces. Only complaint was they were a little small.
The last dish was a bowl of beef udon. Again great tasting, the soup had lots of beef slices and more udon noodles than I expected.
Drinks are also standard, beer, sake, soft drinks, tea hot and cold and also Thai iced coffee which was kind of odd.
Everything was moderately priced. Sushi restaurants can get pricey by individually priced items of course

When we first walked in, I wasn’t that excited about the restaurant because the staff were not terribly welcoming or quick to bring water. The food was still pretty good, average or slightly above average. The amount of portions they gave for the dinner special was great, a bit much for lunch actually but that is a nice problem to have. I wasn’t sure that sushi so far inland would be that good, but I guess all sushi these days is shipped anyway. The nigiri that came with my special were tasty. The tempura that we ordered for the table was also very good. And I tried one of the gyoza on my plate and the crispiness was very good, as was the crispiness of the chicken katsu. In the end the staff were a little bit absent and not very friendly which took down the experience for me. But overall I like it and would eat here again.

Excellent quality! Service was not to “American” standards, but servers were polite and reasonably attentive. I’m here for the fish, though, not a conversation, so I prefer it. Would absolutely go here over Sake 107, especially during their happy hour which is a flat 15% off

My son and I LOVE Kabuki Sushi! He’s a picky 12 year old that won’t eat a tuna sandwich… But ONE TRIP to Kabuki and suddenly he eats salmon, crab, tempura… Anything we can put in rice and seaweed! Haha! I keep recommending it to all of my coworkers. They have SO MANY different custom and traditional rolls (we’re still trying to make our way through the entire menu! I love that they offer more than just tuna, salmon, crab and tempura. Their unagi is so good) and such fresh ingredients. We’ve been going here since we moved to Cotati/Rohnert Park about 4 years ago and we have NEVER been disappointed. The staff is incredibly sweet and the chefs are artists. I have to take pictures every time because they food is as beautiful as it tastes! Anyone that says the staff is rude probably had it coming.. I’ve never seen them be anything but sweet and we eat in the restaurant most times. Please give them a try for yourself! Also – I’ve NEVER questioned the cleanliness of the restaurant. Never had a dirty dish and the glasses didn’t even have water spots. Don’t understand the negative reviews AT ALL.

Wanted to like the place and was skeptical of bad karen-esque reviews. Calamari had the texture of a shoelace and food was simply not good, with mediocre service. I’m all for local businesses and it’s nothing personal, it’s just time to leave this prime location to someone who cares about making good food.

Hands down the best sushi in town. Their rainbow rolls are delectable, the golden California roll is a must try, and if you like miso their miso soup is delicious. Other rolls that are great: sake fever roll, kabuki roll, sunrise roll, and volcano roll. Photo has a rainbow roll on the left and golden California roll on the bottom right. My family and I are regulars and love getting Kabuki “to go” to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. There is a lady that has worked here for a while that knows us by name now and it’s always so wonderful to see her and say hi. I highly recommend Kabuki if you love sushi, usually we order take out but their dine in is great too. Usually when we dine in the atmosphere is calm and mellow.
