We were headed to another restaurant in the parking lot, looked around, and saw this place and decided to go here. I had never eaten here before. I’m always down for veggies and soul food. We had the fried and baked chicken, collards, and mac and cheese. Strawberry cheesecake was horrible, greens had too much vinegar, I guess it was, but overall it was okay. I would go back and try different items.

Been coming to this establishment for years & every time I come, I always say I’m going to post a review and take pictures of my food but being the big back that I am I always sit down & automatically start eating so that shows how good the food is. I have literally ate everything on their menu and it’s never a disappointment. Customer service is top tier & food is REAL soul food. This restaurant will continue to have me as a customer for years to come.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The young man told us about all the food. At first we ordered to-go, but changed our minds and ate in the store. The food was delicious. Seasoned perfectly for me. Not over- seasoned.

This is one food chain that I highly recommend if you are craving some well-seasoned soul food. Your taste buds will thank you! Although the price is a bit steep for a small plate ($16.99 which includes 1 meat, two sides and either a roll or cornbread), the portion sizes are nice, and the food is always hot! This place offers a variety of main entrees and even showcases a specialty entree that varies every day of the week.

Nana Morrison’s has a nice selection of desserts to accompany your meal, and they sell bottles of grape or cherry Kool-Aid to give you a secondary option to your typical sweet tea, lemonade and fountain drinks.

I absolutely love the large selection of sides as well. This place is open every day from 11am to 8am, so the chance to experience soul resonating food is available to you! With multiple locations, give Nana Morrison’s Soul Food a try and let me know how your experience is.

My experience at Nana Morrison’s Soul Food in Charlotte was nothing short of incredible. Every time I walk through the door, Kyla, Demia, and Alicia make me feel right at home. They’re some of the friendliest and most outgoing people you’ll ever meet — welcoming, genuine, and full of positive energy. Their customer service alone is enough to keep you coming back. They’re amazing and you can’t find this service anywhere.

And the food? Hands down the best soul food I’ve ever had. Everything tastes fresh, seasoned perfectly, and made with real love. You can tell they put pride into every plate.

This place isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Great people, amazing food, and a warm, family-style vibe that you don’t find everywhere. Nana Morrison’s is easily one of my favorite spots in Charlotte, and I’ll keep coming back every chance I get.

Great service. You get in line cafeteria style. Servers were quick. I got the meatball special with greens and Mac and cheese.

Sides were great. They meatballs had just a little seasoning issue. Just could have used a little more flavor. Highly recommend.

Don’t let the pictures fool you. The other food they have might be good but I’m just going to review what I ordered. I got the one meat plate that was $18. It had curry chicken, curry rice, macaroni and cornbread. First of all the piece of chicken that they gave me was the size of a baby hen. The macaroni is the watery, runny kind not at all what I’m used to back home. The curry rice was just a no go. It had chicken skin in it and some pasty like stuff. No curry flavor at all. Cornbread was mushy and sweet, and the chicken had no curry flavor at all, it was salty. The service was good and the restaurant is good and clean and well kept. Just wish the food was better.
