Josh at the bar was a gem, perfect drinks and even better service.
Food was about what you’d expect for a podunk diner (given I’d only tried the biscuits & gravy at 6pm), however the general ambience in both the dining area and bar is cozy.
I’d made assumptions about the clientele but was pleasantly surprised to feel welcome as a queer person this Thursday.
Glad to have a nice joint nearby, hope it stays the same.

I needed a club sandwich, and this was where the map sent me. I took stars off “atmosphere” because the booth they put me in was super cramped, and the seat collapsed so the table was chest height. I’m not big, though. The club (with side of pickles) was nice, the type with ham and cheese as well as the traditional parts. Not quartered, but I can deal with that. A well-structured sandwich with reasonable ingredients, but nothing to rave about. Satisfying, though. The fries are something to rave about. I’ll be back to try something else, but I won’t sit at a booth.

Breakfast to go. Nothing fancy 2 omelets with hash browns & toast plus a side of country gravy. I was charged an extra 2 dollars for the gravy on top of the cost just to have it to go plus $3.60 gratuity just for the order to go. They don’t tell you any of this up front when you are placing the order. Taste was good although the portions were small. I left a 15% tip before I realized that they are charging extra to go.

I’ve been coming here for five years now, and I have never had a bad experience. It’s consistently fantastic! I’ve worked my way through a solid portion of the menu…the burgers, salads, chicken strips, wraps, the breakfast hash, the club sandwich, and the country fried steak and eggs. But the real star of the show is the short stack of pancakes. These pancakes have no business being that good. My boyfriend and I both agree they are the best pancakes we’ve ever had! We are actively dying to know the recipe or technique. And then there are the cocktails. The lemon drop and raspberry drop are always perfect and fresh!! They also incorporate herbs like rosemary into some of their drinks which I love. The staff is absolutely kick ass. Always friendly, attentive, welcoming.
And I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t give an honorable mention to the absolutely insane dessert case on the way out. This place will rock your socks off c: promise.

This has been a very good restaurant for years. They have some of the best eggs Benedict I have had anywhere. The chicken fried steak used to be really good as well, but something happened. I’m guessing they changed suppliers. What used to be actually quite tasty, is now unrecognizable as meat. It’s now a giant, very thin patty of something with no resemblance to actual meat. It’s so thin that by the time you factor in the breading, there’s no room for any “steak”. They used to have fantastic chicken fried steak. You had a choice between a regular order(1 steak) or a large order (2 steaks) It’s a shame that high costs have motivated whoever makes the decisions for this establishment, decide to choose cost over the quality that keeps customers coming back. I used to get the large order so I would have a leftover steak for dinner. I took two bites of their new version, and was so disappointed I haven’t ordered it since. Fortunately the eggs Benedict is still really good. I would encourage the owner to fix the chicken fried steak. Just because the new version is huge, doesn’t make it good. At this point my main reason for coming here is no longer the food. The sweet lady working in the bar is the primary reason I come around these days. Marilyn is such a pleasant person, I come in for a hot toddy and some cheerful conversation. But as the food quality starts to decline, my spending at the Warren inn is declining as well. My message to the owner is, please don’t let this continue. I would rather spend a little more for the quality that keeps me wanting to return.

A shabby broken down roadside shack filled with grease smoke, the Country Inn is where you find large portions of OK food to wharf down. The location is dated, run down, ceiling tiles full of wet, dripped on and dried yellowing spots, peeled paint, broken restroom, dim and paper plastered signages on walls. The air system must be broken or ineffective the entire restaurant smelled of cooking grease and the oil stank on your clothes linger for days.

The service was rather quick in an otherwise notably empty restaurant, figures. Food comes out quick–too quick almost, while not a bad thing but definitely came from precooked then scoop and serve buckets back in the kitchen and the taste confirms it. Drenched wet soggy country taters, oily servings of whatever cooked, but not horribly seasoned.

The service and portion made up for some short comings in the restaurant but otherwise a rather hideous dive and unless you are local, the experience is not worth the drive.

What they can do really is simply spruce up the place a bit, fix the obviously broken toilets and door lock, patch the paint and replace dripped on tiles. The place looks as if 3 steps from calling in Ramsey and get put on one of those episodes of Nightmares. So act quick and decisively before the restaurant circles the drain because that downslide is definitely palpable in the air.

In summary: OK food, good staff who try hard, atrocious decors and atmosphere, greasy air, and two glimmers of hope.

I’ve been here a few times and had good meals, but I kept hearing mixed reviews about its current status, so we, with two kids and an infant in tow, gave it a go. They are open later than other restaurants in the St. Helens area, which was a plus being that it was 7:30 pm.

We were pleased to find a kids’ menu that offered dinner items, with breakfast items all day, along with a coloring sheet and crayons. The regular menu provided a good variety of items to choose from.

Our meals arrived fresh and hot. My Cobb salad with grilled chicken was generous. I ordered a cup of cream of mushroom soup that was good, too. The girls loved their French toast and cheese burger. The Alfredo with grilled chicken was ok. It just needed more seasoning and was a little runny.

Service was friendly enough, but a little lackluster. No water refills or check-ins were made. They promote their desserts, but no one came by to ask if we were interested.

Although the restaurant appeared clean, the lighting was really dim above the table, and the booth we sat in was pretty tight for normal sized adults. The other section of seating for the restaurant was closed for the evening. It appeared brighter and had tables and chairs opposed to booths.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my 21st birthday here, and I have to say, Chelsea, the bartender, made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment I sat down, she greeted me with a warm smile and instantly made me feel special. It was my first time at the bar, and as a newly-legal drinker, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to try. Chelsea was so supportive—she patiently walked me through the menu, suggested some unique cocktails, and even offered me a flight of drinks so I could explore different options.

What really stood out was her genuine care and enthusiasm in helping me find a drink that suited my taste. She took the time to ask about my preferences and was incredibly knowledgeable, making sure I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. It wasn’t just about serving drinks—it was about creating a memorable, personalized experience for me.

By the end of the night, I had discovered a drink I absolutely loved, but even more importantly, I left feeling valued and celebrated, which is exactly how you should feel on your 21st birthday. It was nice being able to celebrate with family and experience this! Chelsea’s attentiveness and kindness made all the difference, and I’ll definitely be coming back to see her again. Highly recommend!

Food was not awesome but its because the sausage used for the gravy tasted like pizza sausage not breakfast sausage. I ended up just eating the eggs, potatoes and toast. Portions were good. Service was fine.

Food was excellent, especially the bacon. Prices were reasonable. Portions were generous. Staff was attentive. Food was delivered quickly. It was a bit loud when we were there before noon on a Friday. Free paved parking. Clean restrooms.
