One thing they offer from their Irish pub reminescent menu is a rather large “loaded” baked potato with various topping options. I had a bacon/chicken/ranch loaded potato which was that day’s special. However the shredded chicken in the potato was completely bland, and drier than the Atacama desert – the driest desert in the world!
To be fair I ordered it with ranch on the side (maybe should’ve asked for butter or something in the potato to help moisten the chicken). In any case the dreaded dry-shredded chicken turned almost to a powder consistency on the tongue; it was a very strange mouth feel.
I forgot the name of it, but the beer I ordered had a nice rounded maltiness to it with hints of caramely bread; a very well-balanced grain profile that was familiar but still interesting. My one complaint is that it was served with no visible head, completely flat and there just wasn’t much carb to the beer at all. Not sure if this was intentional or a mistake during the kegging process. I would’ve enjoyed it more if it had 2.3-2.5 volumes of CO2 in terms of carb level which would be more in the conventional range for that style of beer.
The service was okay, everyone was really nice. I just don’t like asking for stuff like napkins & silverware, water refills etc.
It is a nice cozy little place to grab a beer in the summer, or warm up after a hike in the winter
Service: AMAZING. Our server was bouncing around between the bar and dining area to make sure that everyone was taken care of. One person show!
Food: Loved the fish tacos!
The clam chowder had hard potato chunks and rubbery clam.
The lukewarm beer cheese just tasted like cheese.
The baked potatoes & the Rueben looked good though!
