Reviews
Went to this place as a last resort since the place we actually went to was closed. It was Christmas Day and I didn’t want to cook after having slaved over a stove the day before.
THE FOOD:
I ordered the Cubano torta, which looked pretty good on in the picture. It was lacking ingredients and the ones that were actually added were incomplete. The bread was amazing, but the meat was barely there. Ordered a quesadilla for my daughter ($10 dollars) and they used a 6” tortilla. SIX INCH! Ordered a burrito for the wife and again, incomplete. No rice, beans (that’s extra) or anything else that comes with a burrito, just meat and not enough to cost $10 dollars. After my torta I was still hungry so I ordered two tacos to supplement my hunger. They were NOT enough. I do have to say the flavors of the food we had were pretty good.
THE SERVICE:
Now, I’m going to put this out there; I’m Latino but I’m not Mexican, I don’t look Mexican nor do I speak with a Mexican accent and mine pretty much was the only group in the room who looked different from everyone else. The people behind the counter treated us like they were doing us a favor for even talking our order. I say all this because I noticed the difference in how people in line in front of me and the ones after me were treated and it wasn’t slight.
THE ATMOSPHERE:
Not really there. It’s a simple decor with tables and chairs and the occasional TV screen, not that you would expect more than that. The one positive aspect of the place is the sauce and fixings area. The sauces were good, so good in fact that if I was by myself I would have emptied some of them into to go cups just to get a sense of getting my money’s worth.
I didn’t complain because like I said before, it was Christmas, most nearby places were closed, my kid was hungry and the whole place was pretty crowded, which is beyond me. Had I been by myself, I would have told them what they need to hear. Needless to say, I don’t see myself going back to any of the restaurants belonging to this chain, except with some leakproof Tupperware, place a small order and get some of my money back in the way those sauces.
The food itself I ended up getting a torta, along with agua de Mango. Food was all nice, and hot.
They have great food! But they need to still fix how to go orders work. Often have to wait when the food is just sitting.
