6/24/23 Still coming back for the Banana Foster French Toast. Service is always wonderful and the patio was a great place to sit with the fan gently blowing the breeze our way.
We of course picked this place because of the name, I Love Dogs! We got a Bbq/ burger, Ruben, patty melt and a BLT. The food was good, my bacon was a bit undercooked and my burger overcooked but it still had some good flavor. The fries and rings were both homemade and fanatics, rings would have been better hot.
We also had to try desert after hearing what they had and the owner was the baker. We had the blueberry pie, cinnamon roll and chocolate cookie dough. They were all amazing, definitely worth all the extra calories. Absolutely worth the drive!
We saw alive remote on Fox & Friends News Network * and thought we would try it and were pleased.
* They or doing a story on restaurants in the Midwest area opening up.
My first experience with Stray Dog Take Out was absolutely phenomenal, a solid 10 out of 10, and it won’t be my last! I honestly can’t thank them enough for their incredible kindness and the simply delicious food.
I completely spaced on the pickup time, and by the time I called, it was a little past 6 PM. I was fully expecting to just be out of luck, but to my surprise, the person who answered the phone was incredibly understanding. They told me they’d held onto my Family-sized Barbecue Pork Tenderloin meal and were more than happy to stay open a few extra minutes just for me to swing by. That kind of customer service is rare and truly made my day.
When I arrived, my order was hot, ready, and waiting. The barbecue pork tenderloin was exquisite – tender, flavorful, and perfectly basted with their special sauce. It was clear the brining and seasoning paid off. And those cheesy potatoes? Absolute comfort food perfection. Paired with a soft roll, it was the ideal hassle-free, mouth-watering dinner.
But let’s talk about the banana pudding. Oh my goodness. I’ve had banana pudding countless times, but Stray Dog’s version? It was hands down the best I have ever tasted. Creamy, perfectly sweet, and just the right amount of banana and wafers. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal.
Stray Dog Take Out truly delivers on their promise of making dinner easy and delicious. Their food is top-notch, and their customer service goes above and beyond. We will absolutely be back for more!
I had a lunch special, hamburger steak (wrapped in bacon, mmmm) with mashed potatoes. It was good beef, cooked well done (I prefer medium well, but it was still juicy), and with some actual potato mashed potatoes. I usually would have asked for some more gravy, but there was enough. It was a very tasty meal. I got a cup of chili for a second side. It was good, but it was more of the Cincinnati-style chili that gets poured over spaghetti. It had no heat, and had a bit more ketchup or tomato paste flavor than the Texas style I like best, but it was, again, very good.
Raegan had a BLT, which she had been craving, and liked it a lot.
Afterward we shared some of the best chocolate pie we’ve had in a while.
Everyone was friendly, the food was very good. It’s unfortunately on the other side of town from where we live, but when we are in the area again we’ll go back, there are other good looking options on the menu.
