Social Profile:

Qualla Java Café is a specialty craft coffee shop located in Cherokee, NC. At Qualla Java we roast, in house, the highest grade Free Trade Organic beans sourced from the Tolima region in west-central Colombia. A region fully inscribed by the Andean mountains and the Magdalena river basin. Qualla Java was founded by a pair of Haskell Indian Nations University alumni. We love coffee. Coffee has been a staple in our lives since our time at university in Lawrence, KS. Having the opportunity to roast our own blend of coffee is a cathartic practice and gives Qualla Java full control over our product. Every day Qualla Java works to support our local community and demonstrate environmental stewardship.

Coffee is decent, nothing spectacular. I have to drink decaf being pregnant. It didnt taste bad for decaf, but not great, kinda flavorless compared to other coffee shops. Neat soda options. Very pretty area. Only $8.54 for large devaf latte and glass bottled cane sugar soda. I wanted to try Grounded but they were closed.

The wife and kids loved the coffee and the cheese cake!! However, Check the 7th picture, the bread was super moldy, maybe stick with the coffee. Also has lots of cool seating areas and a back seating area that over looks the stream.

We stopped at Qualla Java Cafe for a coffee break and we were pleasantly surprised by the large variety of vegan options available.

Their menu is pretty good and you can switch any of the options with 4 milk alternatives. This is amazing!

We had 2 cold drinks and they both tasted delicious! Definitely a place I will recommend and that I would go back to!

Wonderful coffee shop… so wonderful I made two trips. I lost my ring this coffee shop and the staff went above and beyond to help me find it… after it was lost for a whole day! I am so grateful and this deserves a 5 star review… not to mention thankful for a kind staff and great tasting coffee! Try any iced latte you will not be disappointed. Also the vibe is great as well, very nice place. I would be a frequent visitor if we lived closer.

Gorgeous location. Tables on patio, able to relax with sound. of river. Great first impression. Four stars on food due to our peach scone. Could not detect anything “peachy”.

So you know when you’re traveling and you find a place you love so much it makes you think about ? Well this is the best thing I’ve enjoyed in several work days in Cherokee and I’ve come back twice To this sweet little independent coffee shop right on the banks of the onnucaluftee River. Coffee was amazing (First Fire, definitely a kick! and ordered twice; 13 Moons – wasn’t sure how those flavors would harmonize but absolutely delicious!) The staff are as friendly as can be and the coffee shop has comfy chairs inside and lovely chairs and tables overlooking the river outside. My only complaint is the scone was a bit dry & they didn’t have a huge selection (maybe more in high summer season?) Wish my business trip was longer to try all the items on the specialty ☕️ menu Do Not Skip this place

Found this fantastic local coffee shop on our way to a disc golf course and so glad we stopped. The service was phenomenal! Really knowledgeable and friendly. Great plant milk substitutions also!
I got the Peacemaker, which was medium roast, 1 pump of vanilla (I reduced it from the standard 2 pumps), lots of fresh ground cinnamon and subbed the soy milk for the standard cows milk. Delicious!!! Love that they offered cinnamon in their coffee as one of their standard offerings since that’s how I drink it every morning.
My husband got a Matcha Tea with water and said it was delicious.

I didn’t see any gluten free baked goods here though. So if you’re in the market for that, you’ll probably need to go somewhere else.

This was the best experience we had during our stay in Cherokee. The coffee was really good. The products seem like quality. They roast their own coffee too.
