When I called the restaurant to inform them, the initial response was denial — they insisted it couldn’t be spicy. Later, they said they were trying to understand how it could have turned out spicy. Overall, very disappointing experience.
We had a fantastic dining experience here. The Swaminarayan Paneer Afghani was absolutely delicious — creamy, flavorful, and perfect for those who prefer no onion or garlic. We also tried the regular Mysore Dosa along with a few other varieties, and every dosa was crisp, fresh, and packed with authentic South Indian flavor.
A special shoutout to Tirth, who went above and beyond with his friendly and attentive service. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and made us feel truly welcome.
The ambiance is clean and inviting, and the overall experience was top-notch. If you’re in Vaughan and craving quality vegetarian Indian food, Sankalp is a must-visit!
We went for a Chai, Podi Idli, Chettinad Dosa and Schezwan Dosa. Everything was good except that maybe they can use a little less oil or butter in the preparations. The dosa were quite oily. Podi Idli should definitely be tried.
The staff was nice and friendly. Plenty of parking outside as it is a shared parking with the rest of the businesses in the plaza.
The interiors were great as well with one of the walls having half of the skyline of Ahmedabad and the other half of Toronto.
All the dish tatsed the best. Food was tasting true to the region where it belonged.
Vada Pav dips/chutney could have been better.
I visited this restaurant with my family based on word of mouth and the good reviews their Scarborough branch received, so I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying.
First, the service was very poor. I had to get up and take a spoon from the reception myself. There seemed to be lack of staff, and there were no tissues provided at the table.
Now coming to the food:
-The soup was good, which is the only positive.
– paneer dosa was full of garlic. We asked for a regular dosa, but that shouldn’t mean it’s just dominated by garlic taste.
-Paneer tikka masala was uncooked ,with a strong raw taste of turmeric and overly sweet flavor.
Overall, a very disappointing experience
.I really hope they improve their service and food quality in the future.
We ordered a Chinese sizzler, and it came with burnt noodles. When we informed the server, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, she said we should have told them earlier and they would have replaced it.
We also ordered a masala dosa, which had a very strong and unpleasant garlic smell. The overall food quality was below expectations.
Even at the time of billing, there was no accountability, apology, or effort to address the issues. Overall, very bad service and a disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
