I’m excited for what this place is gearing up to offer. They even have a few vegan options already.
An important thing to know is to ask about their secret vegan menu.
It took me a few visits to find they have careless security practices using Hikvision which is associated with human rights abuses, corporate espionage, and security vulnerabilities. Many countries and the US government have banned or sanctioned it for ethical and security reasons. Took off a star for this.
Anyhow, it is called the Queen B Coffee Company and first impression was that it was a very narrow and small store. There were two very friendly Baristas up front with a very impressive amount of complex machinery at their disposal, including bean grinders and coffee presses.
Towards the back of the store was a counter where you actually place your orders, along with an array of assorted pastries, bagels and other baked goods. You could also order eggs to have on your bagels if you wanted to. We placed our coffee orders there and went back to the front to get our drinks. Again, a very narrow space with most of the tables outside facing Main Street. We were starting to wonder where we would sit to drink our coffee as it was cold outside.
However, we noticed a staircase and proceeded to go down it. At the bottom, it opened up into quite a large space with more than an ample amount of tables to sit at, as well as couches and even an electric fireplace to sit by. There was also a spotless rest room, an outside deck in the back with additional outside tables and a couple of chalkboards on the walls. If I had some chalk, I definitely would have written on it (it would have been in good taste).
We were quite impressed with the layout and the amount of space once we got downstairs. Very nice atmosphere. The coffee itself was very good and we highly recommend others to make a stop there. Next time we go, we will probably try out one of their bagels with some egg. Also, we might bring some books to read.
Highly recommended and wish for the long term success of this enterprise (just opened earlier this month).
You’ll find good people who genuinely care about the customer relationship here.
I haven’t tried the food [primarily sandwiches & pastries], so I can’t rate that, but they do have gluten-free options, which is nice.
