In Japanese, Tama 魂 means “soul” – a fitting expression of our approach, where every dish is crafted with heart, tradition, and intention. Inspired by the shinto belief that all things have a spirit, we honor each ingredient with care and respect, creating sushi that’s as soulful as it is unforgettable. Tama – where every bite is a relection of spirit and craftsmanship.

Had heard about this place and was dying to try it. Met some friends here tonight and it was absolutely fantastic! Sushi is one of our favorite meals and we have been to almost all the sushi restaurants in the area. This one is one of the best! The sushi was so fresh and they have a great variety of different rolls. They also have an extensive entree menu too. And the cocktail list is fantastic! The lemon margarita (zest something) is delicious!! We sat at the bar and Ben the bartender was funny and attentive. Will absolutely be back!

We went to Tama Sushi and Bar for dinner on Christmas evening.
The restaurant was not busy at all (only a few tables occupied), and the service was calm and unhurried.

From a food perspective, everything was good. The cold salmon appetizer was excellent very fresh and nicely prepared. For our main courses, we had the chicken udon and the chicken pad thai, both of which were good and well made.
I should mention that I am a big fan of pad thai and regularly try it in different places across Massachusetts! this one was well executed.

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed when we received the bill ☹️ The prices charged were higher than the prices listed on the menu we were given, and this was before tax (sales tax was added separately).

Given how calm the restaurant was that evening, this price discrepancy is hard to understand and really unfortunate. Without this lack of consistency between the menu and the bill, this would have been a place we would have happily returned to.
I sincerely hope this was just a mistake or an outdated menu.

The food was fresh and excellent. The chickens taste is very exquisite. Juicy and crispy. The sushi had a blast of flavors, and the sashimi deluxe was very mind blowing. If you are also looking for a delicious appetizer, I would recommend chefs special, the stir fried peppers. Overall, I would recommend this to everyone I know.

Top tier service and beautiful plating! Melo was very personable and made this experience great! We got the Szechuan Chili Wonton, Kumamoto Oysters, Natick and Money Roll. Tempura ice cream was perfectly crispy and not too sweet. Will be back soon!

⭐ Tama Sushi – A Solid, Enjoyable Experience

Visited Tama Sushi and had a really pleasant dining experience overall.

We started with drinks — the Toki Blossom was refreshing and well-balanced (5/5), while the Kyoto Sour was smooth and enjoyable (4/5).

For food, the Szechuan chili wontons were flavorful with a nice kick (4/5). The Avocado California roll was fresh and simple (4/5), and the Spicy Salmon roll stood out with great flavor and spice (4.5/5). The highlight for me was the Vegetable Yaki Soba — perfectly cooked, comforting, and full of flavor (4.5/5).

The ambience was relaxed and inviting (4/5), making it a good spot for a casual meal, and the servers were attentive and friendly without being overbearing (4/5).

Overall, a great place for sushi, drinks, and a laid-back dining experience. Would definitely return

At the old location of the legendary Ogas, Tama had big shoes to fill. We stopped by on a Saturday night, the place was full. We were 40 min early for our reservation but they got seated within 15 minutes.
It’s beautiful inside with nice clean bathrooms.
Very welcoming staff. We had Alvin as our server who was excellent. His recommendations were spot on. We really enjoyed the fresh sushi and excellent service.
Come to find out they’ve only been open for a few months and this is only their soft opening. We will be back.

It is a new Asian cuisine restaurant that have opened in the same building where another Asian cuisine restaurant used to be.

The most important difference, the new one is not “Asian only”. It doesn’t have that explicit atmosphere of not being welcomed.

But this is not where changes end.

The menu is rich yet somehow feels more focused. Like an attempt to win the customers with quality, not quantity. But don’t get me wrong, it offers a lot, and the beverages selection is very attractive.

The service is above and beyond, music adds to the relaxing vibes, the dishes are delicious.

I highly recommend this place.

Tama Sushi & Asian Cuisine – Natick, MA (Route 9)

I had an amazing experience at Tama! The food and sushi were incredible — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. ✨

Our server Mya was super nice and attentive the entire time, making sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were also fantastic — creative, well-balanced, and perfectly paired with the meal.

The service overall was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual dinner or a night out, this spot is a must-try.

Highly recommend Tama on Route 9 in Natick!

My friends and I picked TAMA, this new spot in Natick, for a little weekend hangout — and it did NOT disappoint.
I tried Toki Blossom cocktail, which is delicious. Shishito peppers, nori tacos, and Money Roll — everything was so fresh and tasty.
The interior blends modern design with subtle Asian touches — refine and inviting. We really had a great time here.
Can’t wait to come back with the girls and explore more dishes from the menu.

Sad that it replaced ogas, which was nostalgic, but at the same time very good food and good prices. Portions aren’t small for the combos and probably the best bang for your buck. Drinks are good and service is great. Wish they still had some of the unagi dons like ogas did etc. otherwise, fantastic spot would go again soon.
