In Japanese, Tama 魂 means “soul” – a fitting expression of our approach, where every dish is crafted with heart, tradition, and intention. Inspired by the shinto belief that all things have a spirit, we honor each ingredient with care and respect, creating sushi that’s as soulful as it is unforgettable. Tama – where every bite is a relection of spirit and craftsmanship.

The restaurant was not busy at all (only a few tables occupied), and the service was calm and unhurried.
From a food perspective, everything was good. The cold salmon appetizer was excellent very fresh and nicely prepared. For our main courses, we had the chicken udon and the chicken pad thai, both of which were good and well made.
I should mention that I am a big fan of pad thai and regularly try it in different places across Massachusetts! this one was well executed.
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed when we received the bill ☹️ The prices charged were higher than the prices listed on the menu we were given, and this was before tax (sales tax was added separately).
Given how calm the restaurant was that evening, this price discrepancy is hard to understand and really unfortunate. Without this lack of consistency between the menu and the bill, this would have been a place we would have happily returned to.
I sincerely hope this was just a mistake or an outdated menu.
Visited Tama Sushi and had a really pleasant dining experience overall.
We started with drinks — the Toki Blossom was refreshing and well-balanced (5/5), while the Kyoto Sour was smooth and enjoyable (4/5).
For food, the Szechuan chili wontons were flavorful with a nice kick (4/5). The Avocado California roll was fresh and simple (4/5), and the Spicy Salmon roll stood out with great flavor and spice (4.5/5). The highlight for me was the Vegetable Yaki Soba — perfectly cooked, comforting, and full of flavor (4.5/5).
The ambience was relaxed and inviting (4/5), making it a good spot for a casual meal, and the servers were attentive and friendly without being overbearing (4/5).
Overall, a great place for sushi, drinks, and a laid-back dining experience. Would definitely return
It’s beautiful inside with nice clean bathrooms.
Very welcoming staff. We had Alvin as our server who was excellent. His recommendations were spot on. We really enjoyed the fresh sushi and excellent service.
Come to find out they’ve only been open for a few months and this is only their soft opening. We will be back.
The most important difference, the new one is not “Asian only”. It doesn’t have that explicit atmosphere of not being welcomed.
But this is not where changes end.
The menu is rich yet somehow feels more focused. Like an attempt to win the customers with quality, not quantity. But don’t get me wrong, it offers a lot, and the beverages selection is very attractive.
The service is above and beyond, music adds to the relaxing vibes, the dishes are delicious.
I highly recommend this place.

Our server Mya was super nice and attentive the entire time, making sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were also fantastic — creative, well-balanced, and perfectly paired with the meal.

Highly recommend Tama on Route 9 in Natick!
Can’t wait to come back with the girls and explore more dishes from the menu.
