Interesting drive bar … Was there around 1pm on a Thursday afternoon. Not many people there at this time. It was sort of like stepping back in time to the places my grandpa brought me to all the time when I was a kid… Brought back great memories! Patty behind the bar was VERY friendly! The roast beef sandwich was delicious. Will for sure stop back in when in the area.

BaconEggandcheese on a bun. Closest I get back to NYC. This place makes you feel like you’re back home. Quiet and just voices conversing as white noise rather than cell phones.

When you are looking for food, and everything is packed, you decide to step outside the norm. I’m so glad we did…if you are looking for fancy though, this is not that!
When you walk in, you are in a half bar, half kitchen, full house! Its old, it’s tired, but its GREAT for a quick, unexpensive lunch! The cook was nice, the food was homemade..and it was a nice change! Also, you can play scratchers, and have a beer or a stiff drink!

Always great to visit an oldie but goodie neighborhood bar. The drinks are fantastic and boy oh boy are the fresh baked cookies good.

Great breakfast and lunches. Not gourmet just good diner food. Eggs done perfectly. Polish sausage was excellent. Roast beef split and potato lunch special also very good. Cheap and large portions.
Staff is amazing! Felt like they were my friends and expecting me.
A hidden gem just off of the 5th Ave exit on 670 for the last 50++ years.

What can you say about The Lisska? I haven’t eaten there in ages but I’ll pop in for a quick shot now and again. Basically food or beverages it’s cheap and it’s exactly what it looks like. It’s a dive bar in the best sense. Nothing phoney nothing pretentious. Staff has always been nice to me. I get a family owned and operated vibe in there. I’m not sure if that’s the case or not. Anyway, of you like a legit dive that’s the spot.

My wife had been wanting to visit Lisska’s for years after seeing it profiled on a local WOSU program about Columbus neighborhoods. It is a throwback to the old-school corner bar & grill where locals spend time with each other eating delicious homemade comfort food and enjoying the company. Don’t go in expecting fancy decor. But do look around. Enjoy all of the pictures and treasures on display from the past while you enjoy your meal.

The early 20th century sign is what caught my eye (it’s the main attraction apparently) and I stopped in with a friend. If you’re looking for a small local diner/bar/greasy spoon Americana experience this place is it. Be advised it’s cash only so be sure to have some dollars in your pocket.
Walking inside is like a time machine, with tables and booths dating back to mid/late century. Walls have photos and news clippings about both the restaurant and patrons, and even a memorial for those who died in Vietnam. There’s a bar and an open flattop grill. Had a cheeseburger and home fries that were excellent, and will come back for breakfast sometime, which I hear is great.
This is the kind of place that corporations try to emulate, but they make everything too shiny and artificial.
And of course, I had to take a picture of the sign. This is a trichrome done with a camera from 1975; seemed appropriate!

I was passing through on business, this place is a great, and I mean GREAT little greasy spoon diner. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious (nothing fancy, just homemade, comfort food) the setting is the kind of place you would see high school kids sitting in the booth, while their dads saddled up to the bar. The prices are great and really, the service is fast and friendly and just phenomenal.

DELICIOUS potato soup, and I am told the same of the chili. Super dive bar, full of locals who all seem to know each other’s names as well as the names of the wait staff and owner. Certainly worth checking out. I will gladly return. CASH ONLY
