I have been here a few times and and I thought I reviewed it but I guess I didn’t.
I popped in for a quick bite but I didn’t have much time so I placed the order and went to go pick up. The online ordering process was so easy!

I walked in and the woman was so welcoming and told me my order would be right out. Her hospitality combines with the beautiful wall art, decorations and their Salvadorian pride flag gave such an inviting and warm atmosphere.

I ordered a couple Pupusa Revulta that had chicharon, beans and cheese in side and it was such a good combination! The Pupusa was cooked perfectly, the chicharon was so tender and flavorful and there was just the right amount of beans and cheese inside! Paired with the sides of salsa and pickled cabbage made for such a good meal!

Overall Silvia Pupuseria is a gem! I highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

The food was delicious and full of flavor, which really made my experience enjoyable. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, especially Esmeralda, who greeted me with a warm smile and a lot of patience since it was my first visit. I truly appreciate her kindness—it made the whole experience memorable. The prices are very reasonable, and there’s plenty of parking, seating, and outlets to keep my devices charged. I definitely plan to return and look forward to my next visit. Thank you so much for making me feel welcome.

I was visiting San Diego from South East Asia and I wanted to try Pupusas as we can’t get them back home. This place wow-ed me right from the start. The food was phenomenal and the staff were so kind and friendly. It looked like a lot of customers were regulars and I can definitely see why. I would be too if I lived in SD! Highly recommend this place. Thank you for a great meal! The Pupusas and plantains were out of this world. Huge portion sizes too.

This place!

Pupusas were so amazing!

Loved the Revuelta most. Their curtido and salsa roia were both on point, slight tang and so savory.

Cheese quesadilla was thick and had excellent cheese pull, but that green salsa, come on, so tasty!

Can’t wait to have these heavenly noms again!

I am a Salvadoran man, been to a few Salvadorian restaurants. Each claiming to have and serve authentic Salvadoran dishes. Silvia’s Pupusería did not disappoint. From tortillas to carne asada, everything was delicious. We had carne asada and some chicken soup. I am coming back next time I am in the area. Our waitresses were so attentive, always on point making sure we were ok. Highly recommend it.

I love this restaurant! I’ve been ordering pupusas from Sylvia’s on Uber Eats for at least at least 6 years, maybe even 7. These pupusas are hot, fresh, and flavorful. They are of a good size, affordable, and very filling. The funny thing is, I now live in Houston, TX, and my parents call me from Los Angeles to place an order of pupusas for them.
My parents are Caribbean and know good food, therefore they will not just eat from anywhere. Sylvia’s has been so consistently delicious that at 10pm(PDT) tonight, my parents called me to order pupusas on Uber Eats. Unfortunately I had to break it to them that Sylvia’s closes at 8pm. I told my mom I could place an order with another pupuseria that’s open, instead she jumped up into the kitchen to prepare a home cooked meal.
For my family, pupusas are Sylvia’s or nothing.
Much love!

Pupuseria Silvia delivers on both flavor and authenticity, which is great to see since Salvadoran cuisine isn’t as common in the San Diego area. The moment you walk in, the air is filled with the rich, comforting aroma of sizzling masa and melting cheese. The pupusas arrive hot off the griddle, their golden, crispy edges giving way to a warm, gooey center packed with flavor. The revuelta (pork, beans, and cheese) is a standout—savory and deeply satisfying—while the loroco and cheese offers an earthy, floral note that pairs perfectly with the creamy filling. The chicharrón was especially delicious, with a bold, well-seasoned richness that melts in your mouth. The chicken, however, was a little on the dry side, though the curtido—a tangy, crunchy mix of pickled cabbage, carrots, and oregano—helped bring it back to life alongside the mild tomato salsa.

Beyond the food, the hospitality here is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a true neighborhood spot. Another big plus is the parking—it’s located in a large free parking lot, so there’s no hassle trying to find a spot. The only downside is that the indoor dining area doesn’t quite match the quality of the food. The décor is outdated, and the space could definitely use a remodel to make it more inviting.

Still, with pupusas this good, it’s easy to overlook the ambiance. If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran comfort food, this place is absolutely worth a visit—I’ll definitely be back!
