It’s not restaurant grade food. Previous visit was great. Delicious food, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. At this visit i got very negative experience. Probably kitchen staff was different. Mushroom cream soup looks and tastes very bad. Looks like they just made it and didn’t cook it it full. Ojahury was made with old potatoes and tastes like cotton balls. Meat was totally over salted. Waste my time and 40$. Highly not recommend.

⚠️ ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE – BORDERLINE SCAM ⚠️
We (me and my two sons) came to this restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. We were seated around 8:00 PM, ordered food and drinks, and spent well over $100. Food prices were okay, drinks were overpriced ($16 each), but still — fine.
Then came the shock.
After sitting inside the restaurant for about two hours, we stepped outside for a few minutes just to get some fresh air. When we tried to come back in, staff REFUSED to let us return unless we paid AGAIN — $35 PER PERSON.
Let that sink in:
We already had a table.
We were already customers.
We already paid a large bill.
And they demanded over $100 just to walk back to our own table.
I have NEVER seen anything like this in the USA . This is deceptive, greedy, and completely disrespectful to customers. There was NO clear warning, no explanation beforehand — just a surprise charge after you’re already committed.
This ruined my son’s birthday dinner.
Be extremely careful if you go here. Step outside for a minute, and you may be forced to pay again or be locked out. This place clearly prioritizes money over basic customer respect.Total we spent for food and drinks around 300$ tips ( they charge upfront )with and and another 100 $ paid for re-enter !! Total : 400 $ kind off expensive

HORRIBLE RESTAURANT!!!! On Saturday we celebrated a corporate party with a limit of $150 per person. So I’ll tell you, this is the cheapest and worst place to celebrate. The portions are not just small, but so small that there was nothing to eat. We waited about 2 hours for hot dishes!!!! 2 hours before ordering and they knew what was supposed to be on the table. They didn’t have time! But this can’t happen in a restaurant… they brought the bread for 15 minutes and it was COLD! Completely cold and hard!!!!!!! The dishes were served without utensils, that is, everyone had to take a piece with their own utensils… The food was salty. When they brought the fruit, the strawberries were ROTTEN! They replaced it and it was ROTTEN again! And when I called the manager, after 10 minutes she was waiting for me at the bar!!!!! The manager waits for her to come when I complain!!!!! She can’t get up and come! No one cleaned the table until we gave it to them ourselves. You also have to go “to the bar” to pay because they can’t come!!!! If you want to have a good time, Aragvi is NOT THE PLACE!!!

This restaurant has absolutely delicious, hearty, and filling food, drink, amazing and efficient service, and a really fun audience! They were gracious enough to lend their beautiful space for belly dance performance and I had the best time performing so thank you! Afterwards despite the busy staff serving a 200+ crowd they were able to provide me with food and drink quickly and efficiently and helped me with recommendations. They are friendly and inviting! If you are hesitating to go to this restaurant just go already and you will not regret it! ♥️

My partner and I recently booked a table for a romantic dinner at Aragvi, having been thoroughly impressed by the delicious “food to go” we’d previously enjoyed from their affiliated shop. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself fell far short of our expectations, proving to be anything but the intimate setting we’d hoped for.
The atmosphere was the first major letdown. Far from romantic, the restaurant was surprisingly loud and chaotic. We were seated at a table in a high-traffic area, constantly disrupted by people passing by. To make matters worse, a banquet hall behind a shared wall was blasting its own music, and the constant vibrations from the loud bass made for a truly unpleasant and uncomfortable dining experience. The overall vibe was tense, not at all conducive to a relaxing evening.
Our service started off pleasantly enough, with our server taking our drink and food order in a friendly manner. However, as the meal progressed, she became increasingly difficult to find. After finishing our food, we waited a considerable time for the check, eventually having to ask the bartenders to locate our waitress for us. This lack of attentiveness was certainly frustrating.
While the wine and cocktail we ordered were enjoyable, the food itself was a significant disappointment. We ordered the chicken with potatoes, and it arrived dry and flavorless. The saving grace was the cheese board, which, with its three types of cheese, is admittedly hard to ruin. We also had another appetizer that was unremarkable.
Given the loud, uncomfortable atmosphere, the spotty service, and the uninspired main course, we unfortunately will not be returning to Aragvi for a future dining experience.

Had a wonderful dinner and watched a Bellydance showcase featuring students from Chicagoland. This was my fist experience with Georgian food and found everything to be flavorful and a good deal. We had the PHALI MIX which was a great mix of cold apps, dolmas and the table raved about the beet salad- TBILISURI SALAD. My husband had the OJAKHURI lamb and was raving about them the next day. The showcase was a treat and it was nice to have live entertainment and the dancers were fun to watch! I am excited to leave the city to eat there again!

Disappointing Experience: Predatory Up selling and Hidden Fees

Our group visited Aragvi restaurant to celebrate a birthday, but the evening was overshadowed by poor management and what felt like a “menu scam.”

Since our friends don’t speak Russian, I called a day ahead to pre-order. The hostess, Alika, insisted we triple almost every dish to ensure we had “enough.” I had my concerns, but trusted her judgment. We couldn’t have been more wrong. The amount of food was absurd—there wasn’t an inch of space left on the table, and the waiters actually laughed at us as they continued to pile more dishes on. For example, a meat pie cut into 12 large pieces was tripled to three full pies for our small group of 12.

To make matters worse, they attempted to charge us an additional $90 per person for a concert by Ivo Bobul happening in another room. We were in a private area, couldn’t see the performer, and were never told about this fee when booking or pre-ordering. We had to firmly refuse the $1,000+ “surcharge.”

Between the predatory up-selling, the hidden fees, and the mediocre food, I cannot recommend this establishment. Use caution if you decide to dine here.
Save your money and go somewhere that treats customers with respect rather than as a payday.

I really really wanted to like this restaurant and was looking forward to coming here for a month. We tried a number of their dishes including the kharchapuri, dumplings, lamb kabobs with salad, and a beef/tomato curry dish along With an amazingly overpriced pickles platter that was just beyond disappointing. Overall the food was very disappointing, Service was slow despite the server being a very kind gentleman. It just felt like the entire restaurant wasn’t working correctly. Furthermore, the bar wasn’t staffed and so we could not get any drinks beyond soft drinks, beer, or wine. The prices were rather absurd for what came out of the kitchen with the exception of the dumplings which were really excellent and a fair price. If you came solely for the dumplings and the Khatchapuri, you would have a good experience but I would avoid the rest of it especially anything off the grill.
