The Drunken Taco is a cool restaurant in a great area of Gulfport.
Parking shouldn’t discourage you from stopping in to try it out.
The wait staff is attentive, courteous and responsive. The restaurant is perfect for any sized group whether you are alone or with a large group. Dining is available in the classic restaurant style indoors, or at the large bar area. The restaurant also offers outside dining as well. One of the welcomed surprises is that from the curbside, the restaurant looks small, when in fact it is actually very large and extremely accommodating.
The Drunken Taco has a great variety of appetizers and entrées to offer. If you are looking for suggestinh go with the Mahi Tacos and a house margarita .

Was looking for a chill relaxing night (locally) for a margarita….and it turned into a mess. We were seated quickly, because there were only a few other patrons when we arrived (and by the time we left). After being seated, we waited a reasonable amount of time before I had to go tell the hostess no one had seen us yet. Then a young polite waiter greeted us and let us know he was the only server at the time, for the whole restaurant. I ordered a mango margarita with a tejin rim. First sip, made me think I ate a whole lime with a side of lime juice. Didn’t taste any mango or tequila just lime. I felt so badly, but had to tell the server I could not drink it and then asked for a regular marg with a regular salt rim. Few minutes later, the female bartender was in the doorway (outside) and was heard screaming at the server multiple times, “What table was it?” For reference, we were the only table outside. Thank god, I would have been petrified if that lady was acting like that with other patrons seated outside. She then approached us and began saying (argumentatively) that they don’t use a mixer, that it’s lime juice, said lime juice may be bad, and has been serving them all day with no complaints. I explained to her my issue and she left to remake the second marg. Minutes later, she returned with the same mango tejin rim marg, which was in contrary to what I told the server. She then said that it was the lime juice that had gone bad. After tasting the marg, it was just a little less limey than before, and still was not even an average tasting Marg. I chugged the marg in order to calm my frustration and feel some type of calm. We both ordered the Baja chicken tacos, “waffle fries,” and chips/salsa. The salsa tasted okay, more like salsa from a jar. The tacos were better, the rice and beans that came with the tacos appeared old as the rice was crunchy, and the waffle fries were not waffle at all. The fries actually made me laugh each time I looked at them (I added a photo for reference). I then asked the server if said fries were waffle fries. He said that they were not and that their menu was out dated (first time hearing that at the end of our meal). This place is a joke and needs Chef Ramsey lol.

Unfortunately not what we were hoping for. The margaritas are huge and not made very well, the trio dip was tasty. We had a limited menu due to a festival going on. The boneless wings were untossed and came with a dipping sauce. The tacos had no flavor. Our friend got a burrito with pretty much zero meat in it. The nachos and corn nuggets were the best items on the menu. Probably won’t be going back which is sad because it has great potential. #sunshinereviews

We were there for Monday Afternoon Bingo (5-630pm) and had a good time with friends that play. The games are fun, the hostess is great and you can follow the action on the screens. Food was nice and happy hour was cool too!

The food was very good overall. A couple things they should look at is the queso was VERY SALTY.. maybe a little less in it…
their Salsa was the best I have ever had and give had a lot of different salsas.
The server was outstanding but food did come out a little slow for the amount people in the place.
Would definitely recommend this place to others.

So, this place was a huge disappointment. We ordered chips and salsa (which we had to pay for) and right out of the gate, we were served the last bit of stale chips that came from a bag with salsa that tasted like it came from an industrial vat. You could tell by how sweet it was. Gross. Half the chips were broken as if they came from the very bottom of the bag (see pic). That pretty much set the tone for the quality of the rest of the meal.
We were served fajitas, which surprisingly came out sizzling like they should. However, licking the bottom of my feet would have tasted better. The vegetables were slimy and unseasoned. We also ordered two vegetable tacos. Those were also unseasoned. The rice and beans were also unseasoned. Have you heard of salt? Geez! The Taco Bell commercial that played while we tried to eat looked dreamy. I wish we had gone there. It would have been cheaper and way better.
I gave three stars because while the food sucked, our server was spot on. It was almost as if she knew the food was dreadful and worked extra hard for the tip.
If you were wasted, you might not know how bad the food is. You would probably end up at Taco Bell anyway if that was the case. Don’t go here. Most Tex-Mex places in town don’t charge extra for chips and salsa and the ones that do, at least make theirs fresh in house.
C’mon guys…put a little effort (and salt) into your presentation.

Went yesterday for there Taco Tuesday deal. Had a great time. The server was very nice. They have lots of good deals. The tacos were solid. I recommend the Baja Chicken. The shrimp taco was also pretty good but there wasn’t too much actual shrimp in it. They also had some pretty good drink specials like a 2 for 1 margaritas which I will definitely be back for. It sounds like they are doing some renovations so I am excited to see how those turn out.

Great vibe: 50 percent off after 10 pm, and you get a buy one get one free margarita, so you can’t lose it’s $7 for two drinks.
The food seemed to look ok, the beans, not so much with the rice. I look forward to returning and trying a different meal for a better review.

I have to admit it’s a nice place inside but the food was uneventful. Ground beef tacos lacked real flavor and the guacamole had far too much lime juice on it plus too many tomatoes. Portions are decent, good service as well. $56 for lunch including tip.. Far too much for that quality of food.

Food was pretty bland. The bartender was pulling double duty serving drinks and taking care of our table, but he made it work okay. We may have been better off sitting outside, because it seemed like they had waitresses. Atmosphere was pretty good, and the inside was very well lit. Big tequila selection if that’s your thing.
