I want to explain why I am giving this place 2 stars. The food was not too bad, but the overall experience is what was less than awesome. I would probably have given the food 4 stars if they got the order right. But my wife ordered the chikali bowl and requested al pastor for the meat. It was definitely not al pastor. Might have been carne asada? The meat was mostly burnt and was about 1 in 5 bites were just gristle fat stuff. So that was disappointing.
My order was the Guisado Norteño plate. It came looking pretty close to the picture, so that was good. The problem was the price. I’m thinking maybe I was given the white guy price? It cost $18.50. I didn’t know this until after I ordered because the menu doesn’t have prices and is not very straight forward. But I looked at my receipt and I was charged separately $4 for the eggs. I didn’t order extra eggs or anything. I simply ordered the “guisado norteño plate” and nothing else. As you can see from the picture of the receipt, that plate is $14.50 and comes with eggs for $4.00 whether you knew it or not. $18.50 is outlandish for how small and unremarkable that meal was. Keep in mind this is not a sit down restaurant either. You order your food up at the menu. I’m pretty sure I was just taken advantage of because they saw me as an easy opportunity to be dishonest.
The chikali bowl was a much better choice. It came with more food, as well as guac and sourcream, and it was only $12.50.

I’ve had this place out in east LA and I find it to be almost the same in terms of quality and execution.

I got the sampler with friends and it was nice that you could get a sampler of each type of guisados. Off the top of my head, there was the bistec con Papa, chicharron, Winnie’s con verdura, eggs with chorizo, and carne con chile. They were all excellent. It came with a large amount of condiments to add such as pickled onions, various salsas and cilantro, onions and limes. It also came with a few tortillas that are warm. The guisados were all braised very well and very flavorful without being salty. I will say I would ask or like more tortillas as it isn’t enough for the sampler. Other than that, the staff was super chill and nice and were attentive to our needs.

The free parking lot is nice to have but it’s a little hectic with random cars parking where they shouldn’t and tight spots.

We are super excited about Asadero Chikali opening in Inglewood! It was our first time so we tried their sampler platter and two tacos. Highly recommend the platter, especially as a first timer. Comes with 6 guisados and 5 hand rolled flour tortillas, as well as a full platter of fresh salsas and toppings. The service was very friendly and fast. We’ll be back!

The premises were clean, and the staff provided excellent service. The food quality was acceptable but unremarkable; specifically, the dish I ordered fell short of comparable offerings in other regions, including Mexico. The tortillas were thinner than I prefer. I may revisit the establishment at a future date.

This place is a hidden gem in LA! Everything was delicious. The carne asada tacos are a must—get them on flour tortillas and add beans and guacamole. Don’t skip the guisado either; it was a bit on the salty side but still really flavorful and worth ordering. Can’t wait to come back!

From the first bite of the carne asada burrito to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The meat was flavorful and tender. The guacamole had a terrific lime flavor. The salsa was hot and had a great, smokey flavor. This was my first visit, but it won’t be my last. Friendly, fast service and a spotless seating section (though I ordered take-out) were the “icing on the cake”!

Great flavors, selection, and price! The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Sad that I can only come when I fly to LA. If I lived here, I’d be here a lot!

The sweet, handwritten messages on their to go cups also add to the overall great experience!

Came across this place on Tik tok, ended up being really tasty. Pictured is all of the toppings and half my pastor quesa taco (other half I ate) + a vampiro. Everything had excellent flavor and service was fast and quick.

We all got tacos: Al pastor, barbacoa, and asada. They were very good and worth the $4/ea. All the toppings were fresh and the pico was very good. The salsas had very good heat to them as well. I wish they were open later on Sunday and we could have got some more tacos after the football game.
