IMPRESSIVE! First, I would like to shout out Tonya/Theresa? Please forgive me. She was a beautiful Queen who served my family and I with such patience, care, warmth, and attention. Superior customer service for sure!! She treated this place like she owned it! Which is what you want from employees. Friendly smile and presence too. My father & my daughter and I equally enjoyed our food. We were famished that day, so we got right into the food after grace- only have one photo to share (after a cleaned plate). I ordered the whiting (flavorful & crispy), mac & cheese (baked & delicious), yams (a bit sweet for my liking, but on point), and a hot cup of tea. Also on the table was the vegan burger, cornbread muffin, (1) fried & (1) seared pork chop, collard greens, and green beans. We all agreed that everything was 10/10!! Highly recommend. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Lots of historical moments on the walls to enjoy. The next time we are in town, we will definitely visit again!

It slaps every time!! What a great place for awesome soul food!! Everything from the fried chicken, fried fish to the sides: all perfect. Seasoned well and warm friendly service keeps us coming back. It’s an hour drive from our house, but worth the drive to Lansing!

Had a client tell my this was good and man. This it the best food I’ve had in a while. Absolutely loved it. I had the pork and it was perfectly cooked. Not dry. Highly recommend.

My mom and I were visiting from Florida and this place was recommended. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. I was able to meet Mr. Gregory, very nice and down to earth man. This is a must try! The dressing was just okay, , but the fried wings were out of this world delicious. The chicken and waffles was also very good.

Went here about a week ago and am seriosuly considering making it a weekly venture. The service was great, everyone was warm and friendly, even the patrons. People would come in smiling and would great you so genuinely. I really felt that I was apart of a bigger community, plus they had the music on jam. Concerning the food, top grade, a little slow due to the amount of traffic, BUT absolutely worth it! Beautiful portions, I left full but I was definitely hungry for more.

This place met and exceeded my expectations. When I tell you that this is truly soul food, I mean you can literally taste all the heart and soul they put into their dishes. By and far the best soul food I’ve had in a long time. I had the fish and chicken combo and I was in heaven from the first bite. Both the chicken and fish were as juicy as can be, and the crust they put on both was tremendously flavorful. I definitely will be visiting this place more than a few times, and I suggest everyone else do the same.
