Whenever I visit this restaurant, it’s typically in the morning or around lunchtime since it’s close to my workplace. However, I’ve noticed a consistent issue with the service. During my morning visits, several of the staff members — usually around 9 — are often seated together eating and chatting. It typically takes a moment for someone to get up and attend to customers.
Today I stopped by around 11:00 a.m. to order the caldo de res, assuming the breakfast rush for the staff would be over. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. My server took my order and served my food, but soon after joined the rest of the staff at a 1 of the two sets of tables to eat together. This left customers waiting until staff was finished before receiving further service.
I honestly don’t understand why all the servers take their breaks at the same time instead of staggering them. It would make for better customer service and allow the staff to enjoy their meals without interruptions. Is more professional
It’s unfortunate because the food here — especially the menudo and tamales — is excellent. However, the service consistently leaves much to be desired. I’ll probably return on occasion since it’s close to both work and home, I’ll likely try to avoid it when I can …. due to the poor service experience.

I was craving tamales and they told me the best place to buy them was here. I got 3 dozen and for my surprise I got a hair in one of them. call them and nobody’s is in charge they told me to call back the next day.

The place was busy but very efficient. The food was worth the wait. The food was hot delicious and very prompt once seated. The service staff were all friendly. The tamales are very tasty. The menudo was hot and fresh…..very heart warming on a chilly windy afternoon.

Great service . I ask for the chilaquiles montados and they were delicious . Entre come with refried beans , two scrambled eggs and Mexican rice. Will definitely come back again for the chilaquiles montados update come back again and try the fajitas this time and a gordita. Good place

Great service by Mary, although she was afraid of my little service chihuahua dig hehehehe. Great menudo, no green chicken tamales but took half a dozen of red and sweet tamales home. will be viting again for sure.

The food is always good. The service is really really bad. There is this older waitress with blondish hair. She has an attitude towards clients that request tortilla chips. She’s always saying she doesn’t have time to make them and comes out with an excuse. The rest of the waitresses always offer them without even asking. She started telling some customers that there are customers that ask for a 20 dollar service when the place is a 10 dollar joint. Next time I go I will tip her 25 cents since the place is a 10 dollar joint as she said.

Delicious breakfast and the service made it very pleasurable. Dora was our server and she paid attention to every detail. All of the staff were professional. I asked change and the server recommended that I get it at the register then she even checked back to make sure that I received it.

The burritos were good. The gordita pollo a la mexicano was good but very dry. We didn’t like the gordita pollo en mole as much. It has cocoa bean flavoring and was overpowering. The staff was very friendly, but service was slow on take out
