First time eating here. Ample fajitas to eat, clean and nice environment, price ok.
I’m not sure what the fajitas sauce was, but was not very good.
The chips and salsa? salsa needs to be more than basically tomato flavored water.
Try adding chunks of tomatoes, onions, cilantro etc. will be better the water sauce.
Overall first time impressions. Had it, most likely won’t be back.

We were very pleased with our visit this evening. Great atmosphere that kinda sets it apart from other Mexican restaurants. It looks like it may have been an old casino??
Anyway, food was very good and so was the service. The non Hispanic guy that was working when we went in was very good and polite.
We have officially added it to the list of come backs! Thanks guys!

We were on a quick turn around trip from Minnesota to Oklahoma, on the way back to Minnesota we stopped at El Portal and it was definitely the best food stop during the road travel. Great food, great atmosphere and wonderful customer service. My boyfriend said it was the best jalapeno poppers he’s ever had.

Incredible, varied menu with all kinds of options. Always delicious ceviche, crab enchiladas, guacamole, tacos and chips and salsa(not chunky, very watery but great flavor).
Service is good when not busy but sketchy if they get busy.
One downside is the noise every time they drop the dirty dishes into the tub. Ear shattering especially if you are older or having sensitive hearing. Very unnecessary.
We always visit El Portal for a reliable meal when we’re in town.

Very good food, we had fish, chicken, steamed veggies. Service was quick and friendly. The environment was colorful and fun tables had pictures on them.

On a Thursday evening the place is packed. Probably a hundred seats almost all full.
