The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and satisfying, and the service is just as good as the meals. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and happy to help, which makes the whole experience even better.
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or sitting down to enjoy a meal, Steve’s Deli never disappoints. Highly recommend!
We had just missed the rush crowd- no wait to sit- fast service- we ordered two turkey dinners which came with the choice of soup or salad. My husband chose the mushroom barley, and I chose a salad with ranch dressing. The meal was absolutely delicious- The side salad was so freshly made and was a nice size side salad-The soup was flavorful and hot-but the star of the meal was the turkey dinner.-four large size thicker sliced fresh moist flavorful turkey. Absolutely delicious. Homemade mashed potatoes and stuffing- since it was earlier in the day, we ate half and took the other hair home for dinner. BUT We also ordered two turkey dinners to go for Thursday
I don’t know if I would get the turkey to go again because it didn’t seem to be up to the same par as what we ate in the restaurant. The pieces were much smaller was like a little medallions the end slices and almost a double portion of both the mashed potatoes and stuffing. We didn’t get the soup or salad of option that came with the meal when you ate in the restaurant. Charged the same price.
We had never ordered anything other than their sandwiches and soup in the past. We haven’t visited there since the fall before the pandemic- it was good to see that they were super busy and doing so well- It’s quite a drive for us but well worth the drive- We will be back soon
This place has been around since 1995, and it’s easy to see why they’ve stood the test of time. Steve’s Deli serves up some of the best deli sandwiches and matzo ball soup around. Their breakfast is also fantastic — you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
My buddy and I came in on a Thursday and got their Thursday special: turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, and soup. OMG — it was so delicious. Huge portions, full of flavor, and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.
On top of the great food, the service here has always been top-notch. Every visit over the years, they’ve gone above and beyond. Never had a bad experience.
If you’re anywhere near Bloomfield Hills and craving comfort food or a classic deli meal, Steve’s Deli is absolutely worth the stop.
The worst offender was the potato latkes. The center was still frozen when served, and when they were reheated, it was in what tasted like very old, dirty oil—really unappetizing.
On the plus side, the prices are fair for the area, which makes it all the more disappointing that the freshness and preparation didn’t match the value. There’s potential here, but the quality control in the kitchen needs serious attention.
The food was as good as any/most deli I have been to no better or worse, so nothing special. But the service make it not worth going again. The sandwiches are bit expensive for the size.
