The food was fantastic as were all the staff! It’s been a couple years since I was back in the South and able to enjoy Southern cuisine and Taylor’s did not disappoint! I highly recommend them and will definitely go back every time I make it to the Shreveport/Bossier area …. thanks Taylor’s!

Taylor’s Restaurant is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall, and it’s absolutely amazing! The hamburger steak here was life-changing – cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. Linda, one of the workers, truly made our visit unforgettable. She let me try the sweet yams, and they were incredible – sweet, buttery, and perfectly spiced. Linda went above and beyond to ensure my girlfriend and I had a great experience. The cozy, unassuming vibe combined with the outstanding food and service makes this spot a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. Some of the best soul food you’ve ever had. So many choices available, from fried pork chops, gravied pork chops, oxtails, dressing, rice and gravy, too much to mention lol. You totally need a nap when leaving this place or save the rest for dinner.

Been in Shreveport all these years and just now learning about this southern hole in the wall. If you love southern /soul food then this is the stop. From oxtails to neck bones. And if you leave hungry you didn’t clean your plate. And best hot water cornbread hands down .

Upon my arrival, I was ready to eat. But lady immediately apologized because they were closed. Afterwards, she stated she was only joking… Now, the hotwater bread deserves a review alone. Words cannot describe the goodness my mouth experienced. Everything looked mouth-watering, leave me alone, time to eat good. The veggies seasoned with love. The dumplings had plenty chicken and broth, but the actual noodles (dumplings) were under cooked. Atmosphere peaceful.

I had such high hopes for this place considering the rave reviews from word of mouth. The rice was undercooked, the server did not listen to what I ordered, the mustard greens had a weird consistency, and the hot water cornbread was greasy. Funny story, I asked for an extra set of eating utensils and was told a set was with my bag with the food. She did/would not give me a set of utensils from the bowl by the register. She had to ask someone in the back for a fork. Funny, not funny. I love soul food and love supporting my people more, but today was a miss. The high note was the smothered pork chops and black eyed peas saved the day.
I’ll go back another day and prayerfully things will be better.

Omg! I’ve been in town for little over a week and I’ve been to Taylor’s at least four of those days. The staff is very hospitable. They make you feel so welcomed.
The food tastes like a plate from grandma’s house or one of those old school church anniversary plates from when I was younger. Lol!
There is nothing bad on the menu. Everything I’ve had was tender and flavorful. They give you the choice of rice or mashed potatoes, two sides and hot water cornbread or cornbread muffin. They have some great deserts and the lemonade is delicious.
I’ve had the smothered porkchops (my fav), fried porkchops, turkey wings, beef tips, smoked neckbones, oxtails and fried catfish.
You can only get soulfood like this in Louisiana!
The only sad part is that they are only open from 10:30am – 3pm, Monday thru Saturday and closed on Sunday. Wish they would stay open a later and/or on Sundays.
I could eat here every day, but I know they need time off to prepare. So I understand.
Great job to everyone that make Taylor’s the establishment it is.

These women can throw down on some good ole home cookin! I’ve passed this place almost daily and didn’t realize that it was a place to eat. My uncle took me there for lunch last week and it was absolutely yummy
Would highly recommend one of their lunch plates. I had enough to take home and eat again.

Stopped in a weak ago with my daughter, she gave it a 5 overall and I likewise. Hot water cornbread ”excellent”, hamburger steak perfect. Daughter had fried pork chop and shared a bite with me as I did with a bite of my hamburger steak with her, delicious. And those yams, we both could eat a whole plate of them. The cabbage, and squash were both outstanding. We will be going back soon, possibly Wednesday.
