First off, bartender was rude as hell. On 11/23/2025 @ 5-5:30pm the older bartender in a pink tavern hoodie and blonde/grey bun was very awful to me and my friend.

My roommate and I had just moved to palmyra, I have been wanting to attend lock29 since I saw it. We finally decided to go. We entered she was staring at us with a dirty look on her face. We then proceeded to the bar to ask if food was still available since that’s all we wanted. She said nothing was on but she could start something. She gave us menus at the bar and then told us we can’t sit at the bar because she said “I know you’re not of age”. We moved to a table since we don’t care, but it was very rude to say that to us. Mind you we never asked for alcoholic drinks just for food. And we are both 20.

After we sat down and ordered food. She tried to set the food down but apparently the two waters were too close to each other to set it down and she refused to go over the waters so I tried to help her by grabbing my food and she wouldn’t let me. She grabbed it and pulled away. We only ordered fries and mozzarella sticks.

When we wanted to pay we stood up and went to the bar, my roommate had a card and wanted to pay, we didn’t realize it was cash only so I paid in cash. It was a $15 order and I used a $20. She then gave me my change and stared at me putting away my change. After she realized I put all my change away she then yelled over the music and other customers “stay home children don’t wanna tip just don’t come back”. As we walked out we yelled rude.

I am never coming back and it’s disappointing because I had just moved here and was excited to find somewhere to eventually become a regular once I turned 21.

*just because I’m not 21 doesn’t mean you have the right to treat me horribly, just because you used a fryer doesn’t mean you get a tip. A tip is based off the whole customer service. And just because I didn’t tip on a very small order plus already was receiving bad service doesn’t mean you get to call me a child and tell me to never come back*

Friendly people. Good food, however, everything wasn’t smooth on a date night.
Grill and fryers not on. Nothing prepped in a makeshift kitchen.
I’m very understanding from running restaurants, however, not having your cooking equipment turned on to serve the customer is a little questionable.

We were there when Walt O’Brien played. Enjoyed it very much. When will you have him back again?? Would like to come eat and listen to him.

Stopped in for lunch recently while I was on the road working. Food and service were both great. Patrons didn’t treat me like an outsider, overall good experience.

We came late after driving all day. Dawn welcomed us and opened the grill to make us dinner. The best hamburgers and fries we had in a long time. Friendly, quick service.

They get extra points for being the only place (not a pizza joint) open on Monday. Limited beer selection if you’re not into Bud/Busch. Nice stop on a 90 degree day. Friendly staff.

Avoid the bar if Tanya is working. She is slow to serve you and constantly complains about her life. Taco Tuesdays is worth stopping in for if Sarah is working or Dawn is in a good mood.

Everything I’ve ordered here is great! The staff are awesome and the atmosphere is cool being able to look out over the canal. You can bike here or kayak/paddleboard right up to the dock. I recommend the Spicy Tuna Nachos, Pretzel bites, Nashville Hot Chicken, and a cocktail.

Came here as the only patrons on a Tuesday. The bartender didn’t take her eyes off her phone as we sat and asked for menus, took a minute but we eventually got them. She continued glued to her phone. Her friend or something came in to grab clothes and getting the menus was the last interaction we had for like 10 minutes. Then she broke the convo for 2 seconds to ask if we wanted a drink- at this point I say no bc I’m working on leaving, like 5-10 minutes later we leave after shes still yapping away to her friend. Did I mention we were the only patrons? Terrible service. Glad we left.

Cool bar, but the bartender was a miserable person to say the least. My wife and I were basically the only ones in the bar (2 others), and it was like he was doing us a favor to get us a round when we ordered. You would think when the place is dead quiet, nobody there, you would want to be friendly to patrons so they spend more. He just hated his job and life clearly.

Too bad the place looked pretty cool but we had our 1 round and got up and left. We wouldn’t go back after that experience. Great way to go out of business……

Across the street down the alley the bartenders (and patrons) were all very friendly. Glad we found an alternative!
