El Charro is excellent my family and I have been going there for years. It’s a place you can get amazing food at an affordable price that won’t break the bank, which is hard to do these days. I highly recommend it! Thank you for keeping the doors open for all these years! Excellent food.

Let me just say that the service is Top Notch! The waitress/owner was very kind and always asking if we needed anything else. She was on top of it.

Now when it comes to Quality vs Price I would say that the food is not bad, but if I’m judging based on just the taste…it’s not good. My 3 entree plate was slathered in beans…like where are the other sauces?? A Chile relleno and an enchilada should not be covered up in watery beans. The rice was cooked to perfection, but it had too much of a garlic taste. So when all the food tastes like bland beans, and the only flavor is coming from the rice you need to go back to the drawing board.

Food is all about flavor and presentation. These are small tweaks that CAN be fixed, and if they fixed them they’d get more business. Especially with their prices! They’d be the new spot everyone would want to go to.

My last criticism is the AC temperature…IT WAS 97 OUTSIDE! Why was the AC at 88 DEGREES?!?!

Please take all of this into consideration. ❤️

Very good low key Mexican restaurant. My dad told us about this place, he came here back in the 80s when he was a truck driver. Their barbacoa is excellent and their flour tortillas taste freshly made(I didn’t ask if they were freshly made). Great and fast service!

The ambiance feels cozy, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend trying their house margaritas and the fajitas—they’re incredible! A true gem in California for anyone craving genuine Mexican food.

I recently dined at here while my car was getting worked on during my trip back home from LA and had a mixed experience. While the customer service was excellent, the food left much to be desired, and the lack of air conditioning in 97-degree weather was uncomfortable.

The customer service at the restaurant was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure to address any requests or questions promptly. Their welcoming attitude added a positive touch to my dining experience.

However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. As a fan of Mexican cuisine, I had high expectations for the flavors and authenticity of the dishes. Unfortunately, the food fell short. The flavors were bland and lacked the vibrant taste I associate with Mexican cuisine. The ingredients seemed mediocre, resulting in an underwhelming gastronomic experience.

Moreover, the lack of air conditioning was a significant drawback, particularly considering the scorching 97-degree weather. The absence of a cool and comfortable environment made it difficult to enjoy the meal fully. It’s important for a restaurant to prioritize the comfort of its patrons, especially during extreme weather conditions. I found it disappointing that this aspect was not adequately addressed.

In conclusion, the Mexican restaurant provided excellent customer service, but the food quality was disappointing, and the lack of air conditioning during 97-degree weather was uncomfortable. I hope the restaurant takes these aspects into consideration and strives to improve the culinary offerings and dining environment in the future.

We have been coming to El Charo for 40+ years. Always friendly and fast service. It’s not real fancy but good food for excellent prices. Enjoy going for lunch or pick up to go. I love the salsa. And I like their Chili Verde. We were so glad they were able to reopen after Covid. Long time, family owned restaurant. ❤
