I ordered catering from Meaza Restaurant for my Shimglina, and I am extremely satisfied with the experience. The food was excellent!! Several guests complimented the taste. The portion sizes were generous and we had more than enough food, with plenty left over, which I truly appreciated.

Everything was ready exactly on time, and the ordering process was smooth and professional. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality and quantity provided.

I would absolutely recommend Meaza!!!

My family and I had this restaurant cater my graduation party, and I truly can’t say enough good things about them. From the incredible food to the exceptional service, everything exceeded my expectations. Throughout the event, they were attentive and proactive, making sure the food stations stayed full and replacing items promptly as needed. The staff was polite, communicative, and always willing to help in any way possible. Their professionalism took so much stress off both me and my family, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the celebration. At the end of the night, they handled all cleanup, washed and packed everything, and left the venue kitchen spotless. I’m beyond grateful for their outstanding service and would highly recommend them to anyone planning an event.

delicious food and a small shop next door that sells Shiro, honey wine, and injera. Very pleasant find. Vegetarians: Just make sure you ask them NOT to put meat dishes on your veggie combo plate…. Otherwise, great food.

I continually find myself returning to Meaza for the absolute best whole fish in the region. Each time, I’m greeted by a dish that’s perfectly cooked, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. And the salad—oh my goodness! It’s a delightful medley of simple yet vibrant flavors; fresh greens that are crisp and light, combined with just the right dressing to elevate the entire experience. The service is consistently excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making every visit a pleasure.

“Meaza Restaurant is hands down the best Ethiopian dining experience in Virginia! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with exceptional customer service and a spotlessly clean environment. The historic pictures of Ethiopian kings add a charming touch to the already inviting ambiance. The food is absolutely delicious, authentically prepared, and served with care. Whether you’re a seasoned Ethiopian cuisine aficionado or trying it for the first time, Meaza Restaurant will exceed your expectations. Highly recommend!”

Incredibly delicious Ethiopian food, our waitress was so kind and helpful. Loved the welcoming atmosphere. We came on a Sunday so it wasn’t busy at all, we ordered the Doro Wat and it definitely filled us up! We will be back!

Food is excellent, service is good, gets very slow towards the end of the meal which is totally opposite of what you would expect. I’ve dined at Meaza’s for several years, on July 4, 2025, they now add gratuity and this was just for a party of two, my son and I.

This place is a charming restaurant that is family owned, serving delicious traditional Ethiopian food. Everything being freshly cooked, this place is certainly a must for everyone who loves to experience authentic Ethiopian food. I highly recommend visiting this place and to check it out. They also have a store next door with local products and goods.

Late night options appeared to be fast food at 9:30pm until Meaza waved at me. We’re they open? Yes. We’ll take a table outside. A little communication confusion and I eventually ordered two Ethiopian beers and a combo meat and veggie platter with injera. The best ever.

Delicious food, my neighbor and I ordered a vegetarian sampler with lamb placed in the middle. Everything is well seasoned and it’s a delight to grab a bit of everything with the injera in one hand. The restaurant is connected to an Ethiopian grocery store – and yes the injera is flown in from Ethiopia!
