The customer service was extremely poor from start to finish. I experienced dismissive and unhelpful behavior from staff, which prompted me to ask to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the manager was equally unhelpful and showed no interest in resolving the issue or even acknowledging the concern in a professional way.
I then attempted to call the store for follow-up, only to be routed through an automated system that led nowhere and provided no option to speak with a real person. When I asked the manager for her name, I was told that employees are “not allowed” to give out their names, which further added to the lack of accountability and transparency.
This experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and unacceptable for a brand of this size. I expect basic customer service, accountability, and problem resolution, none of which were provided during this visit.
lol We all know Chipotle’s quality has gone downhill… But you can count on this place to not reflect that! I usually order UberEats from this location specifically or I go in person. Go to this one and you won’t regret it! They’re awesome.
Let’s be Real here, as that’s what Chipotle is known for so I’ll stay on brand…
This location stays busy so it’s not surprising that the staff who I know are overworked and underpaid would struggle with keeping the store tidy and/or putting on the customer service mask for every single guest, It’s an exhausting challenge.
That said, I’ve never had a negative interaction with any staff. Although I have had flubbed orders and even more skimpy than usual portioning out of the staff here. Which has probably been to stay in the Goldilocks zone with MGMT…between serving too big and losing money vs having to make a new batch of beans before close b/c early morning prep workers didn’t make a realistic amount for the day.
On top of that, I’ve received less than satisfactory cuts of meat in my plates where I had multiple chunks of pure fat or large pieces of gristle to chew on. Again, this is difficult to mitigate on a commercial scale but very experienced kitchen workers know how to minimize this in the final product too ¯_(ツ)_/¯
All in all, it’s the only Chipotle in Alexandria City aside from Potomac Yard and although it’s not the worst location in NOVA or the DMV, it could certainly be better. I hope to see it evolve into a staple of the community by achieving Restauranteur one day, Old Town is full of small businesses and boutique spots to support, but it’s lacking quality and affordable “go-tos” for any day of the week. That’s why King Street is flooded on the weekends, because everyone is Treating themselves.
Chipotle can change that.
P.s: If you are a Chipotle employee, you should’ve BEEN Union-ized.
Offensively small portions that force a customer to repeatedly ask for more. To be clear, I’m not talking about a customer asking for extra meat, I’m talking about being served a teaspoon of salsa, or a thimble full portion of sour cream. This level of stinginess negatively affects the “customizable” nature of chipotle dining. That, combined with the irritated facial expression of the employee on my 5th request for more lettuce made for a frustrating and unpleasant time.
I should have read the reviews before going here—seems to be a consistent and pervasive issue. Bad if it’s an isolated practice at this individual store, wholly unacceptable if it’s a directive from corporate.
